If only the BD Enterbay had been out at the time. HT would have had a far better example to copy if they were so inclined...(since apparently actual screengrabs of the man aren't an option). NECA's Pescadero Escape and Scuderia's BD sculpt (EB) are the only figures that I feel got Arnie's T2 hairstyle/shape dead-on.

It is exaggerating but he's not wrong about the accuracy complaint in itself. HT, as they often do, have taken artistic license. On the proto at least.

Pretty much every figure I own isn't 100% accurate. I don't know why HT takes artistic license but if that's true, then some people shouldn't be surprised by the prototypes.

Its weird though, I've seen only one tiny accuracy complaint about their Robocop. Even some of the harshest guys here are thrilled with that one. So I don't understand why HT takes it upon themselves to make up their own detail on some things but not on others.

Now that the Batmobile is checked off and owned, this guy should be next on my list of preorders. I'm actually getting real excited about it as it nears release (which should be what, another month or two, give or take).

After that is Mime Joker and Robocop, I'm hoping the next Ahnuld release is Police Shootout (1/6).

Yeah I don't see it as being "artistic" at all. I guess that's just the word HT uses instead of inaccurate. :lol

:dunnoWe're not sitting in their meetings. Who knows why they decide to do things a certain way. Cost? Easier to mimic on the production line?

People really do have plastic on the brain. Just can't get a good discussion going these days.

I'm glad you are seeing what I'm trying to say. When I was typing about this shortly after the specs & pics were released, it looked like a number of people were just completely dismissing my points.

It does take away parts of a less than fantastic hair sculpt. I don't find any hair sculpts to be very attractive to be honest, but I don't think I'd want to deal with rooted hair so I'll deal with sculpted. But still, the shape and size of all the facial features are still the same, so if the DX10 has a bad jawline, nose, lips, etc. so does the DX13. The sculpt did not get stretched or lose its shape when the DX10 was produced. It's all still there, line for line, same as that DX13 proto. Compare with Luka's shots where he really captured all of the details of the DX10 where other photographers failed.

So I disagree, it is not removed from the basic vibe of the DX10. It seems pretty obvious that they were designed as companion pieces. They not only produced a brand new head sculpt, but also developed a brand new Arnold body. Rule of thumb for all toy companies: part reuse as much as possible.

I can't say for sure, but I'm willing to bet that HT wanted to just make a battle damaged T2, but knew that the MMS117 was not up to par compared to EB's work, so they had to develop a new head and body first. Since they had to develop a new head and body anyway, they probably figured they might as well start by making a new clean version to get as much mileage out of the project as possible.

Since there is no different sculpting in that area at all, just slightly wider eye openings, I'd say I'm all but certain it was simply the result of mass production. It also helps the DX13's eyes that the pers sit with less gap between the eyeballs and eyelids. Again, the difference between a sculpt getting one-on-one special care and attention, and getting put together by an underpaid worker on an assembly line.

I think it's fair to say, we agree on some things at least. :lol

I can't stand rooted hair on 1/6 scale figures - hate it. The only thing I've see lately that actually looks good, is a custom Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman that a member posted in the Batman Returns section - it looks bloody amazing.

That said - I generally don't want any characters with super long hair anyway. The only ones that come to mind would be Julie Newmar CW & Lynda Carter WW - & with those, their hair is so heavily styled that sculpting it would work out alright anyway.

The others I want - like Famke Jean Grey, Halle Storm, Noomi Shaw, Ripley etc - all have short looks at one time or another, so I hope they get some high end love in those incarnations at some point. :)

"I'm here, now, what do you want to talk about?"

I watched the Untouchables the other night with the wife because she hadn't seen it. I really dig Sean Connery in that movie so I pulled him up on IMDB to check some other flicks I may not have seen him in and I noticed his age, 83. Which makes him only 12 years older than Harrison Ford. :lol

Still though, I totally bought it that he was his father in TLC. Which for some reason gets a lot of hate on this forum. I love it.

I loved him in The Last Crusade as well. It's actually my favorite of the trilogy (I choose not to acknowledge Crystal Skull) mostly because of the added humor compared to the others which had less humor, more action and serious-tone, but this one had a good balance of all. I forget, was he trying to do an American accent in The Last Crusade? I never notice because he always sounds like Sean Connery in my head :)

Re. 'hate' - you mean the film, or Ford & Sean passing as dad & son?

I thought TLC was widely regarded as the better sequel between that & TOD.

Not my feeling though. :wink1:

There is still a chance that the reason for the delay is that HT had made changed to the sculpt.

If memory serves me right, the DX10 shown at the conventions last year was the prototype sculpt and we first found out about the change once the OMG pics came out.

The film. I choose it over TOD any day and it's right up there with Raiders for me. But if you go into the Indy forums you'll hear a lot of hate for it.

Last Crusade is a brilliant film...and my personal favourite Indy film. Largely due to the Ford/Connery thing.

:hi5: Yeah, I love it.
