Can’t wait. First thing I’m doing is angling the eyes looking up and tilting head down. Menacing.

I've had a few minutes at a time with this thing today -- honestly it just keeps getting better. You want to pose it dynamically (I'm not a dynamic pose guy. Or a PT guy. Or a...never mind) -- you can get a lot out of just the eyes and head tilt.

My bad that first vid was the unboxing.

Here’s his review.

I like his reviews -- but I disagree a little about the ankles. Yes, they can be restrictive due to boot design, but you can get them looking very natural and that material in the front that restricts forward motion? Means you can get some sick leaning-forward poses out of him; obviously you need to balance it right but they stop him falling forward while still having a bit of give.

Haven't gone anywhere near that robe yet.

They should include a little connector with the PERS so you can move them together. I can't remember if the DX07 has this since it's been awhile since i moved mine.

Too much can go wrong with the mechanism, I've heard of plenty of breakage on various figures -- DX09 comes to mind.

While convenient it’s better without. Can get things more exact and less chance it breaks.

Definitely more precise, and the fewer tiny, fragile parts on these things the better.

The figure that keeps on giving. What I like to hear.

I can’t wait for this to ship.
My wife came home from work and launched into a 45 minute monologue about her day (it could have been 45 hours) and the whole time I nodded and pretended to listen while i thought about the ht maul. Where will I put him?
What pose?
Which shelf?
Do I need another detolf?
Will qui gon fit in the same detolf?
And just about the figure In general, which I think looks great.
Thanks ht maul.

:rotfl

We've all done that.

Haha
I believe the whole speeder bike set could easily fits into a Detolf, and still have space for at least one figure, which in my case would be a Count Dooku.

Qui Gon will join with Yoda, and possibly Mace Windu to form the Jedi Council shelf.

My problem is I swore to myself that I would only collect the Original Trilogy due to space and money. But now I am itching for new figures and Maul looks fantastic along with young Obi-Wan, action Yoda, Qui-Gon, ect ...

I wish Hot Toys would release more OT stuff so I am not so tempted. Not too excited about another Jedi Luke, another R2-D2 or another Stormtrooper.

The slippery slope that HT is.

I originally got into 1/6th in 2000 because there were NO Star Wars figures (not counting Hasbro) -- no high-end 1/6th figures at that time. And I wanted to escape the 3 3/4" world the seemed to continually churn out new figures every week in an endless parade of Lucas repeats. Figured I'd be safe and only collect a couple key figures from a couple franchises -- Matrix, Die Hard, Mad Max, Pirates, Indiana Jones, Bond... then Sideshow announced Star Wars in 2005.

Never takes Star Wars long to find a way...

I know that maybe means yes. You're thinking about your Maul right now, aren't you?

Same boat about the lackluster preorders right now. The stormtroopers are on flex, but I’m not excited at all. Cool to have, but not excited. I still need to order Jedi Luke Deluxe and R2, but I will wait on those for some type of deal. There will a lot of empty months in 2020 in regards to ht Star Wars, as all I have left on preorder are probably shipping in the fall.

Maul has arrived - terrible photo
Quick thoughts - maul is beautiful. The box and packaging is top draw.
Bloodfin is great too.
The bad? Broke a peg swapping hands - really bad even for ht.
light up features on speeder- good not great and again with the hidden switch. Should have had the option for a mains adaptor and a switch you can get to without removing a panel
