I'm not sure about this figure. Hopes were high, result isn't nowhere near perfection. And so for that price i'm giving it pass.

Wow -- had to pick this up from the bottom of the page. Done already?

Let's recap the fixes needed:

1. no guidelines for tattoos

2. no 'laughing' Maul sculpt - gritted teeth instead

3. 'conductive tech' for the lightsaber

4. articulated boots at ankles

5. light-up drive console on Speeder beside LED engines

6. ...?

A price point that makes sense .....

For me, the only fix would be the tatoo lines and the articulated boots.

The second sculpt does not bother me one bit and dont care for light up stuff.

I did POd the Speeder version. The movable eyes beat any other version. Endless posing possibilities, but the boots need to be 2 piece.

Boots may be one piece, but there should be articulation. Similarly, gloves should be one piece.

Yeah, could be the people posing it having no clue whats up as it's been in the past.

The severed one is the arm not the saber. He meant it's the same technology, light up saber connected to severed arm instead of a light up saber hilt on its own.

Speeder version still in the cart. Can't bring myself to place the order just yet.

I can see HT making too many of these and a year after release, being discounted.

I can also see it selling out and prices going sub-orbital...

Speeder could be sold for a third of the price or more...

I'm in the same boat, I want this but am hedging a lot.

This seems more likely to me.

Until they make a v2 :lol I bought the original Bat-Pod, it went crazy nuts on the secondary to the point of considering to sell it then a v2 came out and crashed everything down.

This is where it gets convoluted. Do you want accuracy? Or something that can pose but is inaccurate?
The boots he wore are Frank Thomas Titan boots. I have a pair lying around somewhere and let me tell you they don't have a lot of lateral movement. They are motorbike boots. They have a bit of up and down movement for changing gear and pressing the back brake lever, but not much else.
It's no excuse for HT not having a bit of movement. But the real deal are pretty stiff.

If that's like that in real life, I can accept that, at least it justifies the figure.

They are "limit one per customer", I doubt he hangs around long after release.

I'm in the same position... :lol

I don't really feel the need to have the Speeder, but the regret down the line would bother me when they announce a 1/6 Speeder Bike or Luke's Landspeeder and I think how awesome they would all look together. An extra $123 really isn't a bad price. Even though I doubt I would ever have him riding it and it would just sit in the background..

If the Speeder & probe droid ( maybe 3) was released by itself for $150 I don't think people would be complaining too much about the price. And I wouldn't be so hesitant on ordering the standalone Darth Maul. In fact I would have PO'd him the minute he was up. But knowing I won't be able to get the speeder down the line, or I'd have to pay for a 2nd Maul to get it is what's stopping me from ordering him.

Plus the fact I really want the 1/4 scale Vader and knowing both of these are scheduled to ship around the same time... :(

I hadn't noticed that on Sideshow until I read that. It's the same for both versions.

Though that might have something to do with the Special Edition mini Maul hologram.
