Congrats, Verbal :rock it is a great figure. I have mine posed with his opened helmet, haven't changed it since the first day I got it. I love the opened mask.

Chrome only sticks to metal? which is a process thats dipped if I remember correctly.

It sounds a very complicated lengthly process in general.

Chrome Plating.. yes. But I don't think that's related to this vodoun.

This could be achieved with just regular old spray paint that you can buy from Home Depot etc. and it'll spray over and "chrome" up any surface/material. Price varies..

High End: Spectra Chrome

Check out the preview of the Hot Wheels they painted up that have a mirror shine. 3 types of material were painted: Painted Steel, Raw Die Cast Metal and Plastic. And all 3 kinds took the chrome finish flawlessly.

Low End: Rust-Oleum Bright Coat Metallic Finish

Got this from Home Depot for $7.95. I took an old AVP 7" Scar figure that was in pieces and sprayed it quickly so you could get an idea of how it works.

Compared to the MK II which even in sunlight isn't really shiny:

I didn't thoroughly spray it and I only applied one fast coat yet it's STILL bright and shiny.

I never said it was chrome plated. Hence why I said chrome only sticks to metal? Somebody previously thought it was chrome plated but the photos still doesn't show the detail on the hands because the photos are so out of focus. Hence the reason why I'm asking if they masked all the non painted parts or they just blasted the whole figure while masking the inner arm parts, heart and eyes. Or they sprayed the whole figure and redone the black parts on the finger joints.

Upon closely looking, it looks as if they have done that. The finger joints look silver. When you see the black parts on the fists of Verbals. It's prominent little details.

It's a nice effect I must admit. What's the long term effect on the plastics/rubber parts? with it being flexible, no paint cracking or is it like a form of plastic paint that has a bit of leeway? I assume it does no damage then?

It's a shame Hot Toys cheap-skated this.

Mmm after watching the video I'll have to pick this up. That looks fun. :D

At first, I thought some of you guys were exaggerating about how great the Mk II was over the Mk III and I wasn't until I got him today that I realized his true beauty until you have them side by side. He's just so incredible to look at in person.

why make me cry? :monkey2

Painful. Looks like it'll need to be some form of regular stuff then.

That spectra chrome looks so rad though. Is there any paint that can keep the same chrome effect but with some form of brushed look?

Alcad has a better chrome paint finish but may be more complex than spray paint.

It does look spot on there but the subtle brush look on the real thing is quite stunning.

I decided to cancel this one... I like how he looks, but with so much other stuff this month and next (and the limited screen time) MK II got the axe. I'm a little bummed, but overall I kind of suspected from the get go I wasn't going to keep this one on order.

I considered canceling so that I would be able to afford some more Terminator and Predator stuff, but I know I'd regret canceling this down the road.

I still haven't received my processing email. Anybody been charged yet?

Regarding the chrome look, the Mark II looks to have the perfect shine in Tin's pictures on the first page. He may have photoshopped them though.

I cancelled the ex as well. I'm in the same boat...just too much other good stuff coming out shortly...plus I just bought an Endo bust and a big curio cabinet. I hope someones waitlist here converts!

I canceled the Ex. I have a regular coming today and with HT really giving it to me rawdog I have to make room. I'll go back and get the exclusive piece, its fairly easy to acquire in the secondary market anyway.

well, I stuck it out. kept the EX. I don't know how many times I looked over at the Mark III and said to myself...if I cancell this one your gonna have to go..:lol without all three it just wouldn't be the same..

i still havent gotten charged yet even though they said i would today, now its making me worried if im getting this or not =(
