Actually, I see the current trend with battle-damaged Hot Toys figures doing exactly the opposite of what you're suggesting; where you used to have to buy two figures, you now get a two-for-one deal. The Predator 2 and Predator 2 Battle-Damaged figures, along with the Mark III and Mark III Battle-Damaged figures, required two separate purchases. With both the Mark VI and Mark V, Hot Toys is coming out with a single release that gives you both clean and damaged options.Josh I didn't say there was anything wrong with a company giving customers options. What bothers me about the BD is where I think the road is heading.
For example, the Mark VI included both normal & BD parts which I think is fine. However, in the near future I think HT will wise up and start selling full BD only figures, which people will probably buy right up for the sake of having a complete set of a line. That means collectors are spending 2x the money for the same figure, which is a win for HT.
The time HT would be spending on producing a second BD set for the same figure could be better spent on a new figure altogether imo. I'm probably getting ahead of myself with this but I think it's a very legitimate possibility.
