Josh I didn't say there was anything wrong with a company giving customers options. What bothers me about the BD is where I think the road is heading.

For example, the Mark VI included both normal & BD parts which I think is fine. However, in the near future I think HT will wise up and start selling full BD only figures, which people will probably buy right up for the sake of having a complete set of a line. That means collectors are spending 2x the money for the same figure, which is a win for HT.

The time HT would be spending on producing a second BD set for the same figure could be better spent on a new figure altogether imo. I'm probably getting ahead of myself with this but I think it's a very legitimate possibility.
Actually, I see the current trend with battle-damaged Hot Toys figures doing exactly the opposite of what you're suggesting; where you used to have to buy two figures, you now get a two-for-one deal. The Predator 2 and Predator 2 Battle-Damaged figures, along with the Mark III and Mark III Battle-Damaged figures, required two separate purchases. With both the Mark VI and Mark V, Hot Toys is coming out with a single release that gives you both clean and damaged options.

Good point. If HT continues the 2-for-1 then I think that's great since it gives us collector's more options for only having to buy 1 figure.

Thats basically what they're doing with mark 2. but their only making it cause they had most of the parts ready to go. I think theres a pretty good chance they will make BD war machine cause they like to use these molds as many times as they can. Can't imagine them making WM just once and then throwing it away

Avengers armor will probably all be BD at the start

I for one am glad they are doing the 2 in 1 kinda thing. I would not be able to afford having to buy 2 figs.

That's the point I was trying to get at. If they continue to do the 2 for 1 then that rocks!

If I were running HT I would split them up into 2 figures to make twice the $$$, which is what I fear :horror

This is one of my favorite renditions of the suit but if I pick it up, I will definitely want/need to get Whiplash as well...

Just don't know if I'm ready for that double dose of funds extraction, at the moment... :)

That's how I feel as well.
Got Whiplash earlier this week but still have not had enough time to unbox. I just had to get him ONLY because of the Mk.V.

Now just waiting on the Mk.V. :yess:

Bought Whiplash back in December with a GC. Wanted it then to have it in the collection but even more so with the Mark V coming out.

Not really. The only re-use I do believe at this point are the back flaps and the forearms. Even the Mech Test boost for the exposed version have been officially declared place holders and are being replaced. The rest of the figure is all new stuff.

Me too! :wave But for some reason, I'm not tempted to get Whiplash..strange. Maybe, I really don't like the villain..that's all.:dunno

I do want whiplash next to this mark V, but now I don't know where to get it! I live in Mexico so buying on eBay isn't easy at all, I need someone who ships internationally and help me to avoid the customs fees ( it's 535% of the product value) by sending it as a gift… Leo does all that but seems he has no more whiplash…
Any help?

but what about the shipping??? do they ship internationally? and I need it to be sended as a gift to avoid 535% of its value in taxes... U_U

Well I just noticed that they do send it as a gift but with the real prize, so that doesn't avoid taxes... it has to be sended as a gift with a declarated value of USD $30 max.... :gah:
Thnks Centrocal

yup, percent! so if it costs USD $164, the custom fees will be USD $877.... that's the way we do the things in Mexico... lol...
and that's why I need someone who send it as a gift with a declarated value of USD $30 max....
any ideas? some seller who still has it, and do all these things? lol :D

That is insane. I would figure NAFTA would at least keep custom fees reasonably low for U.S.-originated packages. But maybe that agreement doesn't apply to general customs charges.
