Everytime I see pics of the sculpt it looks better annd better! It is far from perfect, but the likeness becomes better with more views. I guess I'll have to wait to see more pics of Tony in the actual movie before I can make a final judgement, actually, some other people should do the same. :lol

When the specs were first shown, I was amazed by how bad I thought the sculpt was, now I actually love it!

Really? I had the HT Bespin Luke on pre-order with a flex. My card declined on a flex payment, they cancelled my order, kept the NRD and I still haven't gotten around to getting Luke from someplace else.

Oh, and I just love that great new system where, if your card declines on a payment for whatever reason, you can't just call and e-mail and have them run it again, you have to wait a week and pray that there's no problem with your card.

I'll take BBTS for anything that's not a SSC exclusive, thanks.

? If they cancel it and not you. They should give you back your nrd plus all paid money. Check local laws.

Bollywood Tony Stark is sad for the people who don't like his headsculpt.

Since you mentioned bollywood... It does look like Sir Ben Kingsley doesn't it? Shave it bald you get Gandhi!

I like the sculpt and the accessories and the price doesn't surprise me, not these days. I'm in.
Holy rusted metal, I just looked at the quantity you can buy and it's 6 :slap

This figure JUST got more relevant:

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Iron Man 3 brings in Shane Black, who made his directorial debut with you and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2005. You’ve worn the suit in battle scenes in three films now – two directed by Jon Favreau, one by Joss Whedon — and I’m curious if Shane’s arrival changes any of the fundamental approach to action scenes?
ROBERT DOWNEY JR.: We’ve just been talking about one sequence – the top-secret name is the Boot/Glove Sequence, I can tell you that, just between you and me – it’s where Tony only has one gauntlet and one boot and he has to escape multiple captors. It’s really fun, dude. We’re taking everything from his first gauntlet test in the first movie up through the most extreme stuff we thought up for Iron Man 2 and The Avengers and pulling on all of it and making this one big, extended challenge of physics.

That sounds awesome. Makes me want the figure more, also makes me wish it was May already.

Yeah, I remember seeing this concept art a while back but for some reason didn't make the connection. Assuming the scene plays out like it should (kinda reminds me of Bond using one ski to go down the hill in OHMSS) it would make this set a bit cooler, for sure. Good catch, DFanatic.

I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with the headsculpt, but I know the eyes are too small. I did a quick photoshop making them slightly larger/taller and closer together, lowered the jowl area and raised the hairline a tad. I think it looks better.

pretty sure this guy nailed it with a little shopping.

Interesting note about the relevance of this Tony. I never got the Mech Test (still kicking myself about that) so I was looking forward to this... until I see the price. Yes, we are all expecting the price to keep going upward... but realistically, I am looking at a bigger picture here - This is the first one from IM3. And we know there are going to be at least 4 more Armors (Mark47, the White Deep Space Armor, Black War Machine, and Iron Patriot War Machine), which by the looks of it will be probably $300 each. And we MIGHT also get Mandarin that will run us at least $200. So to get the whole IM3 line up, will be close to $2000.00. Do I have $2000 extra to spend? Yes, it will not kill me if I spend $2000 in the course of a year or 2. But shall I be spending $2000 on toys? That is the biggest debate right now....

As noted with a lot of people here, this hobby is getting too expensive too fast..... I used to be in the toy business, and I know for a fact that their cost does not go up this quickly. They have been pushing the price up to see how well/bad we collectors receive the new price, and the more we just embrace it, the more they will keep driving it up.

Cool. Although I wish I never read that... :lol

I agree the price is insane, but I gotta get this one way or another. Robert Downey's performance as TS is the spirit behind this character and driving force behind these films. Yeah we love Iron Man but in Imho it's the Downey/Tony Stark part that makes the films more enjoyable . So a chance at Tony this well done, again in my opinion, is just as much a must have as the armor. And the hair style is different but I think the headsculpt rocks ! Something else will have to pass but I gotta have this !

I can't believe how much I like him, just in jeans and a t-shirt. I think I have been waiting for a figure like this, without even realizing it.
