People have been making custom Chewie's for 20 years - I've yet to see one as good as the Hot Toys version.

I agree, but that doesn't make the HT version perfect (recognizing that you were not saying that it is). Personally, I am amazed at how well they did the fur. The snout is a slight problem, the eyes are a problem tougher to futz, IMO. Regardless, this is the best Chewie yet, IMO.

It looks to me like the eyes and mouth are inserted afterwards, after the hair has been laid down. So I wonder if it might be possible to pry them back out again and reposition them...

Or if nothing else, you could probably position the irises a bit further apart to remove the cross-eyed look.

your talking about a lot of work just to fix it up. and I thought mine was a lot of work when I did mine

Played around with the hair a little more. Fixed the long mustache to concentrate on lips area only.

Puffed up the volume of the hair on the top half and sides while trying to retain the slicked back look. Pulled on the area above the eyes to give it some brows.

First pic taken yesterday for comparison.

That face fur might be removable so the mouth can be cut out, shortened and then repositioned. And the moustache could be re-sculpted to look more accurate then reattached after.

I was a little kid again when it arrived this morning.
I think he his awesome definitely better in real life

RAGS TO RICHES is what I'm seeing with every new picture. I guess Budget Start was right in the very first proto video when he said "Mo Mo" is not to popular in the Asian markets as their styling techniques in the initial production pics where terrible.

Just wait till it hits North America. We are going to "smack it up, flip it, rub it down" with our images!!!
