^ Yeah that's pretty much the pose I went for with mine. Chewie standing up perfectly straight just doesn't look quite as right to me.
Thanks, I'll see if I can grab set A and set C...
Really improves the depth of him for sure. I dare say that this is my favorite figure I have, factory or custom.
Thanks! I used a mixture of chalk pastels and pastel pencils. Its really easy to do. Just drag the chalk or pencil across the hair in the direction the hair is going and if it puts a little too much on you can just blend it with your finger until you get the look you want.Very nice job, I love the way he looks! What exactly did you use? The Tamiya stuff people keep posting pics of? And how difficult was it? Congrats again!

Found this set on Amazon that might do the trick.

Can the chalk/pastel be easily removed once applied? I REALLY like this idea.
I have started to lighten up the face on Chewbacca. I applied chalk pastels with my thumb and then used a brush to work them into the fur. Not finished yet, but I already see a huge improvement.

Yeah that's the biggest dealbreaker for me with the detolf. I prefer to have all my figures as close to eye level as possible, considering how much I've spent on many of them.
Raise the Detolf between 27" - 30" and it becomes a great display cabinet - a nice pedestal suitable for a gallery showing. A Detolf on the floor is is like a sad puppy looking for love.
Once you apply it you have to be careful not to touch the hair too much afterwards, because it can fade or rub back out (just like pastel on any other surface). But otherwise it should hold perfectly well.
