Thanks man. Really improves the depth of him for sure. I dare say that this is my favorite figure I have, factory or custom.

Very nice job, I love the way he looks! What exactly did you use? The Tamiya stuff people keep posting pics of? And how difficult was it? Congrats again!

Thanks! I used a mixture of chalk pastels and pastel pencils. Its really easy to do. Just drag the chalk or pencil across the hair in the direction the hair is going and if it puts a little too much on you can just blend it with your finger until you get the look you want.

Sounds simple enough. Does it eventually fall off or will it stay on there indefinitely?

I would assume you could rub it off the hair if you wanted to unless you used oil pastels. And as for its durability I would think it would stay on as long as the hair isn't moved around too much.

I have started to lighten up the face on Chewbacca. I applied chalk pastels with my thumb and then used a brush to work them into the fur. Not finished yet, but I already see a huge improvement.

WoW that looks great, now just add some hair gel to get the shin back ?

Yeah that's the biggest dealbreaker for me with the detolf. I prefer to have all my figures as close to eye level as possible, considering how much I've spent on many of them.

Raise the Detolf between 27" - 30" and it becomes a great display cabinet - a nice pedestal suitable for a gallery showing. A Detolf on the floor is is like a sad puppy looking for love.

Detolf and 2 drawer Nightstands for me, disregard the halloween Props , mess, and pooch and most of all my girls Simi Collection (still working on the Leds on the new cabinets i got this weekend

MALM 2-drawer chest - black-brown, 15 3/4x21 5/8 " - IKEA

I rather have them higher up then down on the floor gather cat hair , dog hair and dust , i even has space to put that monster up there

Chakaman to the rescue! That looks amazing.:clap

Once you apply it you have to be careful not to touch the hair too much afterwards, because it can fade or rub back out (just like pastel on any other surface). But otherwise it should hold perfectly well.

Maybe mask the eyes and mouth and a slight spray of fixative? Or would that make the fur go weird? That's the only issue I have with the pastels - is every time you grab the head to adjust a pose or something, a little pastel may come off if your finger touches anything on the face.
