No point. Sideshow don't replace boxes.
It's an interesting point - you'd think it would impact the resale value down the line.
Too lazy to check who, but someone in this thread said they had their art box replaced (and I just applied for the same). Sideshow doesn't consider the shipper to be of any value but I believe they would rather replace the art box than have a customer return a product and ship a new one out. I'll advise how my inquiry goes.
Got my response from Sideshow, today. Looks like the don't replace the art boxes (or at least not in this case). Instead they offered a $30 credit towards another purchase and a free pack-out with a pre-order of my choice (picked Darth Vader, as I do want to ensure that box is pristine). So $40 altogether which I figure is reasonable since I don't display my boxes and that should more than make up for any loss I would take on the secondary. Other option (since Chewie was not damaged) was to ship it back at my expense for an exchange.

Love love love these guys!!

Sounds like a good deal. :clap

I'd take a dent in my box for a $40 discount on every order.
Haha, yeah, I thought it was more than reasonable and honestly I dislike the Lucasfilm imposed SW box designs, anyway. It would bother me more with a nice design (e.g., diecast Mark III). Out of the 20 or so figures I've ordered from SSC direct, this is the only one that's arrived damaged, so not enough to make me want to pay for a pack-out on each purchase.

Anyone else notice how fragile his wrist pegs are? Duno if its been mentioned but be super careful.

Still havent gotten to comb his hair, im leaving that for the weekend, gonna go for the rotj look.

So far it's the positioning of his head that's more importantly than combing I believe. I've just scuffed his head a little on the sides but moved his head back and chin down. Think that does more to capture his film look than anything. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445999283.034122.jpg

Yeah, i have positioned almost the same and i think it looks better slightly looking down.

Nice. I take back the "no point".

How do you normally add a packout to an order? Might add one on Vader.

You have to call them and they can add it to your order for an additional $10. Some of the guys here have the option added by default to all their pre-orders, but I'll use it sparingly for specific figures. Generally they arrive OK, so I think activating by default is maybe overkill.

I have packout default on all my orders, however, the Cheewie Solo 2 pack and Rocket and groot were NOT packed out- not offered not given. I got lucky and both art boxes were unscathed.

Hot Toys - MMS 262 - Star Wars Episode IV - 1/6th scale Chewbacca Collectible...

Be warned. I have pack out all items on my account and generally works well. My storm trooper pack and my first Han/chewie pack came packed. My second Han/chewie (was to be a gift) wasn't packed out and sideshow told me they don't pack it out. But I got two pack outs in the same box before. Sounds like sideshow ran out of pack out boxes for the two packs.
