Has anyone tried lightening some of the hair around Chewie's face to make him look more screen accurate?

Yeah, but it's way back in the thread near when Chewy started to ship and people started to receive him. Unless someone has done it recently. I think people were using soft pastels. It's not permanent and can clean off if you don't it on anymore. I think I'm going try it on mine.

I revamped the whole figure. New sculpted head, new fur bodysuit and added mohair piece by piece to the head.

Yeah I know. I have the SS version and he's good enough. Don't like him at all either as a character, so am happy HT spend their time and resources on other figures.

If it's another slight redo of the same face as the previous versions it's a waste of time.

I'd love to see HT do a whole new take on Chewy's face/head, though I know that's kinda unlikely given we're at the end of the ST and SW is probably going to get less figs in the next couple of years.

We're at a bit of a crossroads with SW 1/6 with SW in such turmoil and the ST now over. I really wonder how 1/6 SW will play out from here with so many of the iconic SW figs (I mean the kind that interest HT) now done and SSC either out of the game or severely cut back.

Yeah, the head sculpt could definitely use some tweaking even though I think Hot Toys did an outstanding job in tackling this difficult figure.

I've saved pics of many of the amazing customs that fellow Freaks did. If Hot Toys can replicate the best of those, I would most likely purchase two of them.

HT definitely took a downward turn with the ST version, though. (although I have seen some great looking tweaked sculpts.)

It’s a shame they didn’t nail the head sculpt likeness. Still a great effort by Hot Toys though. He’s one of my faves too!
