Are there any pics showing what the light saber will look like when lit up? I think all the photos I've seen show it photoshopped to look like it does in the movie. It would be nice to see what this will look like in hand.

Looks like Tyrion came out pretty nicely. Noticed a lot of great photos from you, lately, Fiend. Is this something new for you or was I just missing them? I recall you posting pics but not with the figures so deliberately posed and with the neutral background. Anyway, they're looking great.

Didn't some of the old SW PFs come with lit lightsabers, like the Vader and Jedi Luke? From what I vaguely remember from reviews, the lighting effect wasn't terribly impressive. But I suppose they could have found a way to improve it a bit (and maybe duplicate the more even light of the 1:1 lightsaber replicas).

I'm in the camp of thinking the HT Vader is way off, so I started out to do a comparison. Using this ANH helmet promo shot and comparing to a HT shot it shows that the dome and mask really aren't that far off. The nose and eyes should be wider, but otherwise it's pretty close.

Of course the chestbox is still too small and he's still too tall, but the mask isn't necessarily what needs fixing the most.

When I look at those two images I might as well be comparing Tom Cruise's face to Ben Stiller's. ;)

What are you talking about Pixel?...the helmets look like twins....only their mother...errr....Lucas can tell them apart.

Dave, an Optometrist visit is advisable. They couldn't be more different, no matter which one you like. :lol

The one on the left may be the "real" helmet but the one on the right looks better. The real one looks like it was made by a 6th grader... its all messed up.

I'm guessing they'd have specified the interrogator droid having light and sounds if it did. Although the prototype model is still awaiting approval so who knows. I doubt it though. I'm just hoping they'll include a stand for it.
Yea if it's rolly polly like hasbro and has no electronics then it's not worth it.I'll just buy a light sabor from pixle and call it a day

Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed it would be that close. I guess it really must come down to the overly glossy paintjob and lack of reddish lenses then. Or maybe the lack of symmetry really does make that extra bit of difference (which I wouldn't have expected to be the case at such a small scale).

It's all about the details. The one on the right is more cleanly produced, but IMO, the proportions of the one on the left are more appealing to me (ignoring asymmetry and roughness).

I'd look at the mask on the left and wish it were like the one on the right. Actually, now I look at it again, maybe not. I guess I'd be happy either way.

I have this ordered but small inaccuracies aside. This beats SS. People are comparing SS production with HT proto. Fair comparison is to do SS ANH proto with HT. Not sure why people are hating so much. Yeah the price sucks but in the end, HT will have the better quality and will be more accurate than SS. I'm not hating SS because I have the ESB version but I am sure HT will change this.

Key notes to change on helmet is the smaller pinched mouth/tusk area. Widen the lenses and lower the height of the eyes. Get rid of the huge neck. Vader had a short skinny neck not fat and long. Done brows are too thick. Need to pear at the middle eyebrow portion not outter portion.

HT doesn't do accurate. Quality yes, accurate no. YMMV - they're all over the place.

SS's Vader proto and final are all but the same. HT's protos and shipping products are usually pretty close too. They most certainly don't get better.

BUT.. Why compare HT to Sideshow anyway? Without comparing, you can like one and not the other, like them both or not like either. The quality and accuracy of one has no bearing on the other.

Posted these comps over the past two weeks. I agree with Dave. Obviously different lenses in the pics etc. but I think it's closer than people seem to think. What's off is hard to pin down.
