ummm...We HAVE waited for years! :wink1:

And if you want a GOOD Vader you will need to wait even longer. :wink1: Though if you are happy with what is offered for now, more power to you...

I wish Marmit had released theirs: it was truly ahead of the curve:

Marmit Vader was not perfect, but so much better than any offer so far. All Marmit kits were ahead of their time. Just compare the SSC Stormtrooper and Marmit...

Yeah, I think if finally took the release of the HT stormtroopers to truly show the age of the Marmit one. They were more kits than true action figures. Their At-At Driver hold up today, though....

And still the overall shape of the Marmit Stormie remains the best.

Why didnt get Marmit one get made?

Marmit was shut down by the Toy Illuminati. They gave us too much.

I'm NOT happy with what is offered now, so no....no power to me. :crying
It's just that we shouldn't have to wait any longer...because it's been long enough. Any company worth their salt should get this right by now. As many, MANY have stated in the past, there's enough reference and experts out there to get this right. Anyway...:horse

Folks, do yourselves a favour & listen this man - his customs are impeccable. :duff

It's definitely a mixed bag but it's similar to me to HT's Obi-Wan. Neither figure is perfect but it's the best we're going to get for a very long time (I don't believe that they'll revisit this figure when this design was only featured in one movie and most seem to prefer his ESB/ROTJ look). I also don't think it's realistic to expect HT to put as much effort into it as a customizer like Mr. and Mrs. H do, say. At the end of the day, it's just another MMS product to HT and not a labour of love. It's like expecting a mass produced Friday the 13th SSC Jason to compare to one of Beto's $1k+ customs (and that's a much simpler figure than Vader, too). It'll never happen, no matter how much effort SSC might put into it, but their inferior ~$200 version will be good enough for most people. So, that said, for me I either accept this one, maybe with some mods (like the Hurricaine dome) or I go all in and get a full Hurricaine. Much as I love Vader, though, I just don't need $1k fidelity in 1:6. Unlike Friday the 13th, this property in just too vast to even contemplate spending even more cash on.

You know what.. honestly? I'll probably buy this Vader.

That said, in one respect comparing the figure's shortcomings to HT' Ben, & either accepting them or not - does have merit, but in another, it doesn't. Ben looks like Ben, whether the Alec likeness is 100% or otherwise. The Vader does NOT look like Darth Vader from STAR WARS - & that's what they're bloody well marketing it as. :lol

Sure, in some pics it.. kinda does, but it's like they've just copped out & slanted more to a EPIII / IV amalgam.

Poor form. :lecture

I wish we knew how much was HT not knowing/caring enough to make it better and how much is LFL revisionism. On the other hand, look at how inaccurate their Terminator endos have been and presumably not for lack of reference material and with no hint of interference from the license holder.

Which why I'm always curious on how these things work because the licensor has to approve it.

So they approved Vader and they approved the inaccurate Endos. It's probably a mix of Hot Toys thinking it's good enough and the licensor not giving a **** about the inaccuracy. Then there are actors/actresses and licensor holders that are more strict about the figure, like Drax, which causes the figure to be delayed.

Haha. I still haven't used that feature on either ED-209 or Robo. Wish they never even thought of adding sound. Literally the only exception I'd make is for R2. I would like hearing his beeps and whistles on demand.

Edit: Also have to add I did like it on SSC's Probe Droid, too. So it has its uses on the right figures but personally I have no desire for it with Vader.

It's shocking we're even having to discuss modding a $300 HT figure, it was different when we paid $80 for SSC ANH Vader, then again i can remember bricking it hearing the glue crack doing the dome mod on that one.:dump

I think everyone was saying that this is more of a generalized Vader
