If Vader and the SS C3PO both come out in December I need to let my family and friends know ahead of time that they won't be getting Christmas gifts from me.

Not sure how anyone could hope for a better ANH Vader than this?
Screw the batteries, the sound etc..It's nearly perfect. Too dark here to take proper pics, will have some fun with him over weekend.

I'm trying to wait for an ESB version but this is making it difficult. Looks fantastic. I could almost just stick the inner robes under the armor and call it good.

Until you see their ultra glossy ESB/ROTJ helm. ;) Why not get both? ESB Vader is probably ~2 years from being in-hand (I'm assuming they will give this one at least 6+ months before even considering a pre-order for an ESB version).

Yeah, thinking of the super glossy helmet is what makes me hesitate lol. But like you say the next Vader is probably a couple years off. I do have almost $90 in rewards I was saving for Thanos, but I've been too long without a Vader.

Most likely they'll be hung up on Ep7 figs for a while before they move to ESB.

No doubt Thanos is a cool set. Love the floating throne. Considered it myself when it was first teased but one of those things I would only buy if I had a lot more money and space. B/c of the number of characters in both Marvel and Star Wars and prices, I've decided to focus on SW and even keep that paired down as much as possible (plus a few other small licences like RoboCop, Terminator, etc). ANH Vader is a must even if I decide to sell off most of the other stuff, though. I have a 10 figure or so shortlist and he'd definitely be on it (I'll cheat and count both ANH and ESB as 'one' figure, hehe ;)).

Have you finalized what you're getting yet? Or waiting for in-hand decision-making? Actually, if I recall, you find re-selling annoying...

Yeah, I'm the same way. Limited money and space so I stick to favorite characters and the best version of them.

Found these shots on Facebook, that's exactly how I'd display him, inner robes under the armor and cape draped forward. The helmet looks shinier in these shots too.

I do hate it but think it's probably necessary. Holding off on pre-ordering means I often don't order at all (which at least saves me from the impulse purchases) but I still find I need to see the stuff in-hand to know if I really want to keep it (so much of this hobby seems to be the ritual of acquiring something coveted and then ultimately letting it go).

I haven't gotten a final list, just yet, though. A lot will ride on whether I am OK having say a max of two rotating displays (kind of a lot of trouble but maybe worth it) or settling on one. Even then I suspect I may buy the odd figure that I simply want to have on the shelf awhile and then sell off. Similar to what you did with your Snowtroopers.

When I first got into the hobby, I figured I could really think things through prior to purchasing and only order the shortlist and never resell anything but I soon found that wasn't the case for me. I guess it kind of keeps it interesting, though, to have stuff passing through, so long as one can enjoy it for a time.

Wow, that's a nice shot. Thanks for posting, JBot.

Yeah, there's some truth to that. I'm actually looking forward to having nothing at all on my pre-order list. After January I should be in the clear (decided I'm gonna cancel my Jawas and R5... love those characters but feel I'm really getting into the weeds, then), so long as HT doesn't announce the Emperor in that time frame, lol.

The Emperor is another I'm waiting on. I'll be glad when HT moves on to the rest of the OT.

Yeah, I'm resigned to a little bit of buy and sell. I have Star Wars down to a bare minimum now, but if it's one thing I've learned, things change. At the end of the day I'll remain pretty minimalist but things will come up in the future.

Yep, minimalism is definitely what I gravitate towards, too. Part of me just wants to sell off everything, as a matter of fact. :lol I just liquidated a fairly vast CD collection that I'd acquired over 20 or so years and have to say it felt good (have it all double backed-up lossless on 2 HDs), along with my worthless comics and all minor action figures (Hasbro 3.75" stuff).

Anyone think the cape and robe will be widely parted out? I decided the lferigno ones are too high maintenance.

I have Tony Meis Vader cape and tunic from a some years back. Gonna see how that looks on vader when i get mine from my supplier.
