great photos guys,

without having to dig through tons of pages, whats the verdict on the cape and tunic? will people be upgrading with an lforigno or tonymeis type custom?

The Cape is beautiful. Heavy drape but malleable and folds a dream. Makes me wonder why they messed up bats so much.

Tunic also great but needs the wire removed to hang easy.

Ditto what Tim said :)

Fantastic work! The small mods really do make this figure look even better, will have to do the same once I get mine. :)

I must be one of the few that dislikes weathering and battle damage. I want a pristine, shiny AF Vader. He looks awesome all polished up like he was at the beginning of ROTJ.

ANH is definitely in the minority of preferred Vaders. Most like him shiny and polished like ESB/ROTJ. I'm sure the future HT version will not disappoint in that way.

I'm of the few who like the original incarnation; more used and battle-worn.

I'm staggered it would be the minority but I'm inclined to agree.

But the ANH version is the version. Warts and all. ANH is the daddy.

ANH has always been my least favorite, from his dingy appearance to voice. JEJ sounded different compared to the other movies.

Vader was at his best in ESB... He was a boss, marching around altering deals and cutting off hands.

Does removing that wire in the Tunic:

1. make a noticeable hole?
2. Decrease the value? (of course we will be scrambling to unload ANH when ROTJ version is out.)
3. frustrate you?

The ESB version has always been my favorite. I never picked up on the "battle damage" on the ANH version, and until recently I never noticed the difference in the helmets (now that I noticed I prefer the dimensions of the ANH version). But for me it always seemed like the ESB version was just slightly better executed when it came to details. The inner robes look better inside the armor, there chain is fixed to a hook on the armor so it doesn't get lost up under the helmet, the two toned armor also stands out better, there are lights on the chest box, and the seams on the gloves look better going with the seems on the arm.

Here is my dilemma, I only want one Vader, the subtle differences aren't big enough for me to want one of each. BUT, I really like the helmet of the ANH version. I don't know how easy a parted out helmet will be, but I am tempted to pick it and hope that it will also work with the future HT ESB/ROTJ Vader when they make it. Then I could have the ESB/ROTJ version with an option to redress him for a ANH-ish look using the ANH helmet and putting the inner robes over the armor to mix it up once in a while. Yea it wouldn't be 100% ANH accurate, but close enough for me.

At the same time, maybe a parted out head will be expensive enough that its better off just getting the whole figure. I don't want to miss out on the lit lightsaber in case they don't do that again. If I do that, when the ESB/ROTJ one comes out I may get it too and sell off whatever ANH parts I don't want to swap on to it from time to time. It might be cool to have a version that is an amalgam of all the best parts I prefer for an idealized Vader.

How are people getting the chest armor, life support box, and belt/codpiece so close to each other? I thought that wasn't possible because of the torso. It looks great, how was that accuracy achieved? Just futzing, no mods?

Release Velcro crotch strap for codpiece and raise up to close the gap
