Well with such tiny batteries, they won't hold much charge.....they should've taken aaa batteries! With wired or plugged contacts

Unbelievable what I'm hearing about the sound effects. Maybe Clipper was right, would've been better to put the effects coming from a stand :gah:

It worked once for me, when I first put the batteries in it.
If I take the batteries out and then put them back in it works but only once.
That's it.
The switch on the back does not seem to do anything at all.
I have new batteries so I can try them in it tonight and see if it fares any better. Fingers crossed.

Why did HT not include the light saber sound with any of these, Obiwan, Luke and especially Vader, you have the blade light up but no sound ??

:pfft: C'mon HT even the electronic Vader at the Disney store did this

In ANH, did the chest box light up at all? :dunno

Is it only ESB and ROTJ they decided this
The sound effects are already overkill, IMO, and sort of cheapen and add problems to all the figs HT adds them to (this, ED-209, RoboCop). It's a garbage feature to begin with, so last thing I personally want is more of it. I can imagine the hum of a lightsabre well enough, don't need it on these figures. Hope HT does away with adding sound altogether. R2 is literally the only possible exception I can think of.

Totally agree.

agreed. I always dislike any voice or sound feature, you can guarantee it won't hold up. If HT do R2 i hope he is remotely operated for any lights or sounds. The chance of me taking a figure out of a (locked-away from little fingers) display case to flip a switch is nil. Vadar will never see a battery. If the plasma blade was remotely operated I may have tried it.

Agreed, needs to be remote but then you know HT will add the 'battery saver' feature to turn it off after 15 minutes. :slap Does seem like it would be better if the feature were just ruled out altogether.

Edit: after a little experimenting I think I know what the issue is. The batteries are draining extremely quickly (even when off) on the torso. I switched batteries and it drained the new ones as well. Very odd.

But it does work.

But those batteries are quite large, so maybe HT is giving us bad batteries. Anyway, the function works once on a 3-battery load?

:exactly:

This is the issue IMO. We don't need a battery saver feature. I would want to only listen to voices maybe a couple of times, since the saber and belt effects are separate functions, there is no need to have the JEJ Vader voice playing constantly and consistently every hour. Who is going to do that , maybe a kid? Guess what, these aren't made for kids in mind , so just making it so you can switch the voice and sounds on and off at your leisure is fine.

I think the battery saving function uses up the batteries more and some cases shorts out the other functions

Sound features make me think of Hasbro or the like. It seems cheap and tacky, these aren't low end figures.

Lights are cool if you take a lot of pictures, but I don't even need that. Keep the electronics and knock 30 bucks off the price.

Anybody did a comparison between Hot Toys ANH Vader and Sideshow Vader Figure?
I already own Sideshow one, but not sure whether to get Hot Toys one.
Seem like Hot Toy figure has more genuine look of the Vader
and Sideshow figure has a slight Toy feel to it..:dunno
