congrats wor-gar. now between the two helmets ht and hurricane`s is there any difference`s as to accuracy or not.

Thanks!

I'm afraid the Hurc Vader I have is very old, from 2005, actually his first after his original modern prototype -- it still uses the Kaiyodo mask and Hasbro helmet (although I don't think he had gotten to many of his superior revisions yet back then).

So in answer, I'm not sure because you most likely have a much more advanced Hurricane Vader than I do.

BUT... the HT mask and dome are larger than my Hurc Vader. Proportions look similar.

Anyway, I'm certain there's inaccuracies in the HT helmet, but it looks sweet to me...

(tiresome repost)

Hmmm..... back on the fence again with this guy. I go from "must have him" to "my SSC Vader is good enough." I was the same with Kenobi, but I never had a Kenobi before and with Vader I already have one.

^ Yep. I'm just stoked they got the dome right. I'm sure when the ESB version comes around, they'll have worked some of the other issues out.

Damn missed out on the TA loose helmets but at least I was able to get the loose shoulder armor and boots for my custom SSC DX Vader. Does anybody know where I can score a loose HT Vader helmet on ebay or elsewhere? Thanks!

I'll trade my HT Obiwan headsculpt or HT Solo headsculpt(plus extra hair and headset) for this DV headsculpt. PM if interested!

^Haha! Can't fault me for tryin! What about Han AND Obi for this guy?! Come on, somebody (echo...echo..echo...)?

Man, I just spent the last HOUR trying to get those batteries in my Vader. ClipperKing was not joking -- it's MADDENING!!!

So here's a helpful HINT: use your own sturdy tweezers. Also, go SLOW and be PATIENT!

The belt boxes are the worst of course. I got one done in 5 seconds, but the other was a complete struggle. Batteries popping out, flying everywhere, won't go in, won't stay in place, end up upside-down -- instructions don't give you a clue how they need to go. Very, very -- VERY -- maddening.

I have to say: the electronics in VADER stink. Hope they do away with them entirely for future figures -- maybe keep the light-up saber, that's about it.

The VOICE is very loud and very clear -- it's great -- but getting at it after 15 mins is troublesome to say the least.

Trying to dig for that little switch on the back under TWO separate body suits AND a ROBE AND a CAPE!!! I did a little trick -- folding up the undersuit in back for ease of access -- and I still have to feel around for the switch so much that I mess up any good futzing/pose I put Vader in.

And trying to switch on the belt boxes is a chore too -- switches are so small and are recessed as flat as the box itself -- I need a pin to switch them one.

NOT WORTH IT!

***In fact, I have a spare Sideshow Deluxe light-up belt -- I think I might switch out the difficult HT one for the Sideshow.

Bought an extra body suit from Toy Anxiety; gonna make that an 'easy to access' hole in the back of the suit to get to the sound fx easier.

That's a good idea, actually. Do you just need the bodysuit hole, or a hole in his vest, too? Both pieces are OOS at the moment.

lol...........I bet you did!

Vest was already sold out, so grabbed the body suit - figured it was something to play with....

Man, we're just having totally opposite experiences with this guy! :lol

I installed the batteries last night, and I was SHOCKED how quickly I got them all in. There seems like there's somewhat of a little 'ridge' incorporated into the slots that helped to get them to slide in easily (oh boy, there's jokes coming, I'm sure).

None of the light-up features are particularly impressive. The saber especially .

On the other hand, I find the sound effects to be pretty fun! The remote control is kinda neat, too! In all likelihood, I'll only use it once, so it's essentially useless. The best part is that the electronics are housed completely within the abdominal section, meaning that articulation isn't restricted at all (the Medicom V2 had sound effects as well, but the entire chest was one-piece, as a result).

Anyways, it's a great figure, and I really like it, it's just a little too ambitious, I think. Considering all the activity regarding Star Wars figures, I don't think this was the best time for Hot Toys to release it. I'm looking forward to hearing others' opinions as more of us get ahold of it.

Here's a quick pic. More to come.

Does anyone think the Soap Reactor would be a good alternative for some of the battery compartments on this figure? At least the voice feature

That's pretty funny.

I think one of my belt boxes is broken, which may be the reason I had such a horrid time getting the batteries in. But we'll know more as more people get him. I remember when people didn't want to hear me say that Chewie was really dark at first.... eventually the truth comes out.

I haven't tried the saber yet. Curious about that as all the pictures look pretty good -- but I know most of that is exposure.

Anyway, once I get past the electronics play-time, then I can get back to enjoying the figure as.... well, a figure -- rather than a half-assed electronic toy.
