Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

The chest armour should go a bit lower too.
Yeah, that too. Agreed about the dome needing to be lowered ( again! :lol). But my biggest gripes is the dome, and maybe mask. The dome looks too elongated and not wide enough. What do you think?
Love the suit as well, gloves too.
Obvious one's like the red lenses have to be fixed. Fan pressure may be key to the other little issues.
Funny enough, Sideshow actually got the red lenses right on their ANH figure. :lol

Some official specs & pics will hopefully put the figure into better perspective for us, but while it's **** loads better looking than either of SSC' already, it needs that 1977 vibe - know what I mean?

I doesn't quite have that yet.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Looking good. Vader looks great. Obi there is something off with the AG head sculpt. Looks way too young. It's the eyes for sure. Hope they can fix that. I've seen better sculpts. Kinda let down by this attempt at Old Ben from Hot Toys. I always thought they would knock the human head sculpts out of the park. So far I haven't been blown away yet(Luke, Han, and now Obi).

The human sculpts have been underwhelming. I'll be buying them for the character, but impressive they're not. Trevor's sculpt poos on this one.

Oh I know what you mean. I tell you one thing, when all these HT figures are finally released ie Han, Chewbacca, Vader, Stormie, Obi and hopefully Luke and Leia they will make one epic display.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

It's only a proto. Between proto and production a lot can change. Just look at the proto Amazing Spider-Man 2 on the Sideshow site and then look at the actual figure. So many passed on it because of the material they used on the proto but when it came out they changed the material and everyone loved it.

Good point Racetrack I forget about that. SS never improves their figures from proto to final product, I'm glad at least Hot Toys does that and listens to our feedback about stuff.

Those of us that have SS Vader. Will you keep or sell? My problem with it was the height. I love the display helmet and i prefer the ESB/ROTJ suit. Since they are different there is no reason you can't have both but i'm not sure i need 2 Vaders.

What is it about the height that everyone always talk about? What is the accurate height for Vader?

Weathered look? Someone said its too clean and needs to be scratched up, but I totally get what you are saying mate :duff

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Decent looking Vader.

I'll be keeping the ESB SS one but replacing the jumpsuit.

Old Kenobi looks good as well. But since my SS one is being repainted by Elvis, no need for it.

Someone please remember that I'm saying this especially you Exoticlex I feel the same way about those sculpts and noticed the running theme, they were all sculpted by Koujin, by far the worst Hot Toys sculptor! They need to get rid of him like they need to get rid of Howard Chan's love for Johnny Depp. I wouldn't be shocked if he sculpted this Obi Wan as well. I hate Koujin the fool has sculpted RDJ so many times and they don't look anything like the actor!

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Kenobi looks great to me and since I don't have one its even better. Vader needs quite a bit of tweaking though,
The helmet mostly.

I don't know, I think he may have finally gotten the hang of it, after seeing that Tony Stark the other day.:lol

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I really dig that they're going for accuracy over accessories. I know a lot of people like a jam-packed release, but I like that they're taking their time and keeping it screen accurate. I'm no SW expert, but I'd hazard a guess that you'll see an ESB accurate Vader in a similar vein to this, before, finally, seeing a ROTJ Vader with Unmasked sculpt, etc.

How many tries did he need before getting it right? And when he does good sculpts they are always cleaned up by Yulli or someone else. Are we going to have 7 Obi Wan's or Han Solo's before he gets it right?

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Eh, Yulli's had her misses over the years, too. If you got rid of everyone who wasn't great at one likeness or another, Hot Toys would consist of JC Hong painting portraits on paper, while one of the tailors made an outfit that was meant to be taped down.:lol

I'm not a expert but I can't believe they left out the red lenses, and I'm noticing in these pics they left out the bottom chin detail, the grated, uh fishnet triangle thing?
What is HT doing missing such obvious things like this? :gah: Other than that he looks good though. These minor fixes could really make it a buy for me and I'm not even a Vader fan.

The chin detail is there, it's just he's looking down so its a bit hidden.

This looks incredible, though the "brows" of the helmet look slightly off. The architecture of the mask looks great.

Very excited for this release.:clap
