Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Persistence is key. I posted the same **** day after day after day about the QS Batman before it came out, by the time it came out, it was like a totally different (and ridiculously amazing) figure compared to the prototype. Was it because of everyone who posted? Probably not, but I like to think we helped a little bit.:lol

Sure you lowered the dome but what are you going to do about those sunken jowels?

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

So confused .....Old Ben in Vader's thread ..:panic:

Meh, both have their issues but not enough to stop me from buying.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Helmet if totally OOF. Dome is too small, too thin on the edges, sits too high. Why don't they buy the Efx one, scan it, reduce it to 1/6 and that's it. Like they have no money!

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

If you preordered DX05 you wouldn't be so optimistic :tap

:lol

Here's how it is for me these days. It's no piece of gold info, but of course - both HT & SSC are capable of nice work as well as average work. I've acknowledged that before, nothing new. The hype is what makes things skewed, & we're all guilty of it. :lol

The problem is, while SSC have shown that their Luke & Han sculpts can be potentially GREAT, the follow up is kahkah - & packing their sets full of fiddly extra trinkets doesn't change that. :huh

I'll buy the figures that I want - that kick *** - that's it.

Its totally the eyes.

Whoops wrong thread :lol Damn you Lejuan!

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I'm a bit underwhelmed by these Vader shots, he just doesn't scream ANH to me. Of course, after some proper posing and futzing, his look can change completely, so this is just based on these very early shots.
I feel he looks too "heroic", if that makes sense. Like he's based on a comic book appearance, where proportions are idealized. Knowing Hot Toys though, I think the actual product will be better, as many here have said.
Since I'm more into the ESB/ROTJ look, the ANH Vader would have to be near perfect for me to get it, and I'm not seeing it so far. Either way, I'm most likely still getting parts from this to upgrade my ROTJ Vader.

Just a quick Dome lowering to see:

Hm, better, but the more I look at it the more I dont like it. :lol Even the face mask looks too narrow. The whole thing doesn't say ANH Vader to me....

Both these are parts buys for sure. The tunic and robes for Obi are awesome, and I'm very happy my Ski Obi sculpt.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Curious what the Vader experts will say. Right now not 100% impressed.

As for Obi, the SSC looks more like Guiness than HT.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I like it but it doesn't look like Anh Vader more return of the Jedi and peeps are going to freak on the height issue

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Not liking how Vader has turned out at all, I just see a toy with an ill fitting outfit. No way I'd spend good money on this..., shame though as Vader is my favourite & I'm always surprised when there's a new version but I'm not tempted to buy it.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Oh wonderful were the days that everyone thought that a HT Vader would be the second coming of Christ. :lol

And Charlton Heston never played Obi Wan :nono
