The lenses were never reddish but amber. This Vader is really accurate, the lenses are amber as they should be.

They don't look very amber on the HT helmet in the pics I've seen. Maybe under very specific lighting it shows up more clearly. They seem pretty much the same as the facemask color.

And to be fair, one of the colors that makes up amber is red.:dunno

I've met Anthony Daniels twice. At Celebration I and III. Both times a complete prick. Just a rude self absorbed person.

Perfect casting for 3PO.:lol

Yes, amber is in the red spectrum. You can't see it on a picture, but if you shine a flashlight (or other bright light, like your phone led) into the mask you definitely see a dark amber color. I think Hot Toys really nailed the original lens color.

You have centered a good target! Prowse body language, his typical walking and his out of the ordinary body proportion gave to Darth Vader something priceless! Honor to Prowse!

I took a picture of the lenses with flash to demonstrate the amber color.

Are the lenses painted on Vader or are they actually lenses? Meaning, can you shine a light up through the neck to backlight them like you can with the stormtroopers?

Need to track one down. Then after those things it's the shiny hands.

I have a Sideshow Ep.4 Vader for sale if you're serious...PS

Fair enough. In some shots of the movie it was very obvious - maybe just the way the lights hit the lenses...in natural light, it seems less obvious, I guess...

David Prowse always had such expressive body language for Vader. Something I always wonder if he's given enough credit for. Decided to give him a slight lean:

And still have to clean up the excess 'damage' paint on the boxes and belt buckle...

I'm stealing that pose[emoji846]

Does anyone know why SS has taken full payment from me yet it's just been saying processing for like 2 weeks?

Purchased a lot lately so this is more of a down the line type of thing. Do you have a For Sale thread?

If you want a no-cost alternative you could also consider the Hasbro (Ultimate Villian) suit. :horror

While the sewn "lines" aren't quite close enough together (by a 1mm or so, though it's closer to the HT than I thought it would be, except on the sleeves where the lines come closer) it really is a pretty decent alternative that mimicks the realistic look of the SSC ANH suit - without the $$. It is short in the sleeves but Vader's gloves are so long it only matters in extreme poses.

Also, Hurricane makes a suit that looks pretty decent, though I haven't seen in-hand.

I've got my heavily modified SS Vader. shortened the body. padded it. lowered the helmet. added the widows peak... paint and whatnot... if anyone wants, lemme know!

I have the Hurc ESB Vader but waiting on SS to ship me my HT one. Here's some pics I took a while ago of the Hurc one (took the pics prior to futzing...his box and stuff is all jacked up i know):
