Cool. May I repost this picture and the mod list on another forum?

Sure cool! Do you have a link?

@Jazz: What is a cold cathode sabre and what do you mean by saying "from the inside scenes of the tunic"?

Sorry i meant: "removed all excess fabric from the inside seams of the tunic and vest"

Cold cathode sabers are sold by PixelPiper on this forum.

Haven't been brave enough to mess with my Vader much so he's still all stock. Trying to secure a SS body suit and have an extra dome but haven't messed with it yet--also plan to paint the chest piece, as after the belt/boxes that seems to be the most noticeable and effective mod.

awesome shot man, OT storm troopers are so cool. also want an SS suit, but I don't think I have any chance of finding one.

Forgive me if this has been discussed already, but what is the advantage of using the SS ANH suit? Less bulk?

I might be willing to part with my SS vader suit... convince me?!? not trying to be an opportunist... just sitting firmly on the fence!

Taking the plunge and modding my Vader. A question for those who have removed the lenses, how easy was it ? I'd like to paint the helmet without the lenses in and put them back in when it is completed.

Here is the updated list of modifications:

-repaint and weathering on the helmet
-slight buffing of the satin, just like the movie
-removed the dome
-put metal tape on the inside of the eyes to get a bit more red
-removed ribs on dome and sanded down the top of the 'head'
-reglued the dome slightly asymmetrically
-weathered and repainted the armor
-wired up the belt boxes and voice system to 4,5 dc adapter
-redressed him with cod as high as it could go
-chest box attached with double sided tape right underneath the armor
-weathered the belt, boxes and buckle
-removed the wire from the robe and added a heavier one along the bottom of the robe
-weathered and polished the shin armor
-painted all the hands flat black
-used double sided tape to really attach the glove to the hand seamlessly
-weathered and repainted the chest box
-did a lot of futzing and water treatment to get it to fall naturally
-added cold cathode saber
-removed all excess fabric from the inside seams of the tunic and vest
-cut some of the rubber from the side of the chest so the arms can go straight down

$300 And then this? Ouch. I want this HT but maybe not I guess.

The trickiest part is getting the dome off... once that's done... easy peasy!!!

you need to crack the two halves of the helmet open... no cutting... just pull them apart... just takes a little force... once apart, the lenses come off from the inside of the faceplate very easily..
