Haha Chad Vader. Loved the thought of Vader as a night manager at a grocery store. Maybe it's Darth Helmet who is the second cousin's ex-roommates boyfriend who is Dark Helmets buddy.

I am going to pose Vader like that for awhile. The other pics are some comparisons with the first sideshow Vader from years ago. I still like that one but the advancements made make me appreciate what have now even more. The height is better now and Vader still has that commanding presence with my other figures.

Got mime today for a good price. I'm happy with it. Will sell my SSC DV Deluxe version. Only thing that bugs me is different base color than stormtrooper has. Or Boba. The spray paint is different every time it seems.

Yep I like the gloves and I hope I can get them when the figure gets parted out. Everything else just reminds of revenge of the Sith Vader. I am glad to have the a new hope Vader with the war weary armor

Looks great, but WTH?? Are they really going to parade out a Vader in R1 that makes absolutely no sense with the timeline?

Maybe they'll introduce a scene where Vader soils his brand new suit just before he has to board Tantive and has to slip into his Sh***y back-up gear..

People were talking about how they would explain it away in the movie. The easiest way would have been just to make him look very similar so there's nothing to explain. Shoehorning how his robes now have to go over his armor and how this one battle made him look all messy is a little silly. But we'll wait and see what happens.

The fact is there are new stormtroopers, they look very different, so Vader being different barely bothers me anymore. I know this leads into the OT, but there's so much that was not going to be seamless. This is going to feel like a movie made 40 years later even if it's supposed to end 1 day before or whatever.

Most of the improvements are minor.

Here's my assessment based on the Hot Toys ANH Vader, which, rumor has it occurs only minutes after Rogue One.

• The shoulder armor sculpt looks perfect as far as I can tell, but still needs a total repaint.
• the gloves are much better, but still don't look right. Modifying the ANH gauntlets, with different repainted hand sculpts, while also not perfect, still looks better than these. These gloves also look sculpted, which means no wrist articulation.
• they added straps to the boot sculpt, for the shin armor which is cool.
• The codpiece is differently wrong.
• the belt buckle is still wrong.
• the gray buttons on the chest box are still too light and still need weathering.
• Still no silver buttons on the straps of the chest box.
• weathering was added to all the belt and chest hardware which is nice.
• head sculpt looks exactly the same, but with a different paint job, that still looks wrong.

Okay now THAT is how I wished SS did the latest PF Statue. I would have ordered this if they made it look like this 1/6.

I REALLY love how this one looks. WOW, HT. NICE NICE job.

Yeah to be fair the props and costumes did look pretty rough in ANH-- far beyond what you could just dismiss as "battle damage". Just look at how crooked many of the panels on R2's dome looked throughout. And Vader's helmet had all those finger smudges that would have stood out like crazy in a modern SW movie. So I can't really blame the Rogue One director for wanting to idealize the costume and make him look a bit more sleek and imposing like he did in ESB and ROTJ (or to put the chest armor outside the tunic where it frankly looks a lot better).
