Thanks you guys, you've eased my mind a bit.

Yeah Wor, I've been getting a good look at those box tabs and I figured I'd just gently slide it over the belt. I'm going to take my time like I always do and try not to mess it up. I really don't want to rip the Velcro off like other people have suggested. The plan is to work it over it. I've been looking at all the pictures from the past year and all those fixes really do add up to a nicer looking figure. I'm not really that OCD (I'm not going to go as far as repainting the helmet or doing that cool foil trick that simulates a face and eyes being under the helmet), but I do want the stock figure looking the best it can be. I saw quite a few people put the tunic inside out and that was triggering me hard. :lol

After I make all those little adjustments, the next thing is finding proper gloves. Depending on how the Rogue One Vader looks in upcoming in hand final product shots, I might just buy that one too . . .

The worst part for me was not the belt. It was switching the regular arm for the lightsaber's one. That was a difficult task.

Just came in,

Had no problems futzing the belt boxes or codpiece. No damage. This guy looks fantastic. I love the headsculpts and cape.

The batteries were a pain in the *** to get in the belt boxes. I got them in and they light up, but I can't get the port cover to fit over it no matter how hard I try. There just isn't enough room for the two to sit flush inside the box. They touch the connector to light, but they won't sit flush. It's whatever though.

Oh and he won't talk or breath from the body. At first I thought it was the batteries, but all 6 work just fine in the remote (it lights and everything). I tried rotating he batteries, moving the on and off switch up and down, but nothing. So that kind of sucks.

Not done finished futzing yet, but man I'm impressed with this Vader so far, it looks gorgeous.

Noice!

Putting the batteries in this figure was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a figure. If he hadn't cost a small fortune I would have reenacted the copier scene from Office Space. Vader would have taken a dirt nap courtesy of a Louisville Slugger.

He really is an "impressive, most impressive" figure. I got mine a couple months ago and he stock but I did the belt box adjustments and the codpiece move. I want the Rogue One hands but who doesn't? I am really happy with him overall. I won't do the nose plug move or the painting on the facemask because I am not that talented. I respect everyone that can do those things but he represents Vader well enough for me.

My Vader arrives tomorrow afternoon.

I've been watching a ton of YouTube reviews and poured through this thread as much as I could. Other than the lame 15 min battery compartment reset and the cheap-o belt, is there anything I should I keep in mind when I open this guy up?

The only "mods" I plan on doing to Vader is removing the wire out of the tunic, futzing the chestbox/straps, moving the codpiece armor up and adjusting the boxes on his belt closer to the buckle (which I read is dangerous). Will the belt most certainly rip, or am I good if I take my time and use tweezers to get the hooks over the Velcro? Also, I was looking online but can't find where you unhook he belt buckle. I know it's in the front, is it just a peg that goes into that rectangular spot? Is it delicate or were people that broke theirs just heavy handed with it?

Probably not going to bother with the electronics, maybe just test them. Thinking of selling off the interrogation Droid and box as well.

Be careful with the belt. You mileage can vary. I customize a lot, and understand how to handle delicate parts. I went to move my belt boxes closer, knowing to be very careful. I was slow and very careful and ended up immediately ripping my belt. So being very careful is no guarantee that you will not damage it.

*EDIT* gratz on futzing without any problems! [emoji4]

Sent from my Motherbox PING PING PING PING PING PING PING PING PING PING....

This.

I don't know how much more soft handed I could have been with mine and I ended up ripping my initial belt as well, constituting a replacement. Based on that, I'm not willing to try again unless I had a ready backup.

There were two runs of this figure. The one that's now waitlisted is the second run. First run went to waitlist pretty quick; earlier this year, I believe.

Didn't know this got a second run, that explains the length of time it was available then. Can't imagine how much those 1st edition runs would be worth if they didn't make the second runs. Chewy was approaching $500 dollars for a minute.

Well now we have a year's worth of Rogue One Vader... until the Episode VIII Vader (from a dream sequence) and the HT ESB Vader.

There will never, ever be a shortage of Vaders from now on.

If only we had a Vader that - out of the box - looked like Vader from ANY OT movie. No luck so far or in the near future.:dunno
