Guys I need some help.
I bought a nude Vader body for an unrelated custom job but noticed too late that there is no place to attach the feet pegs at the bottom of the legs.
Do these legs only work with the Darth Vader boots?

The ankles are designed specifically for the Vader boots, but if you grab the knee joint and firmly pull downward from the thigh, you can remove the calf and knee portion of the leg relatively easily without breaking it. You can then replace the calf and knee joint with one from another Hot Toys figure.

Hot Toys arms and legs are designed this way, and they're even labeled with a little molded "L" and "R" so you don't get them mixed up.

That's what I ended up doing, thank you.

Awesome pose, looks great. As mentioned, the autographs of the actors associated with the character is a nice touch.

It's gorgeously detailed, but I really wish they had made the Interrogation droid the right scale (it's built our of two R2 domes, so should be at least 50% bigger) - HT just seems to love to make underscale accessories. The mouse droid started it all, the latest is the teeny-tiny Yoda lantern.

My Vader arrives tomorrow afternoon.

I've been watching a ton of YouTube reviews and poured through this thread as much as I could. Other than the lame 15 min battery compartment reset and the cheap-o belt, is there anything I should I keep in mind when I open this guy up?

The only "mods" I plan on doing to Vader is removing the wire out of the tunic, futzing the chestbox/straps, moving the codpiece armor up and adjusting the boxes on his belt closer to the buckle (which I read is dangerous). Will the belt most certainly rip, or am I good if I take my time and use tweezers to get the hooks over the Velcro? Also, I was looking online but can't find where you unhook he belt buckle. I know it's in the front, is it just a peg that goes into that rectangular spot? Is it delicate or were people that broke theirs just heavy handed with it?

Probably not going to bother with the electronics, maybe just test them. Thinking of selling off the interrogation Droid and box as well.

There's a peg behind the buckle. As far as the belt boxes, my advice would be to carefully remove the little Velcro tabs altogether. The tabs on the boxes are very delicate and any stress on them may snap them. (Speaking from experience). Mine have been reglued and have held strong since.

The belt is extremely delicate so handle with care. If possible, make your own out of real leather or pleather. You may also want to reposition the saber hook. It's placed too far back, making it difficult to see the hilt.

Unless you plan on using the light up features often, I wouldn't bother with any of the batteries. He looks just as great without anything lit up.

Other than that it sounds like you have the other futzes covered. Good luck and congrats on the pickup.

Tony -- I had no issues getting the belt boxes on the belt nor fastening the belt. You've been around a long time, it will be clear when you receive yours what to do. But just ease the pegs that hold the box to the belt over the Velcro and they will stay in place. Again, this will only make sense when you see how its laid out.

But good luck getting the batteries inside those little boxes. One will be easy... the other... :slap

I agree. I was worried about the belt too. I even went as far as buying a parted out belt from Toy Anxiety in case mine ripped and I had to contact Sideshow for a replacement. I had no trouble removing it, sliding the boxes over (even slightly on top of the velcro), and then replacing it back on Vader. That's all I did to the figure as well. Move up the cod piece and slide over belt boxes. Good enough for me. I agree also that putting the batteries in the belt was one pain in the arse!! I never even bothered with trying out the sound function, so gotta hope it's ok if I ever get the urge one day to hear Vader breathe and speak...
