Or like he's telling someone FU. :lol

Though admittedly if I were going to get a R1 Vader, that's probably the pose I'd have him in also. I mean that last scene...:rock

Was any of that scene CGI? Vader seemed a bit CGI-ish at times in that scene but maybe it was the Halloween funhouse lighting, and also how what he was doing felt a bit Battlefront-ish.

I thought they struck the perfect balance with PT and OT light saber skills.

Worth noting though they made he suit look like OT have to believe it's more forgiving on the actor and is slightly more flexible. I thought he had the perfect balance of agility and constraint in that last scene. Brutal SOB that Vader is.

It did remind me of Battlefront, actually that whole movie was Battlefront. However, I didn't notice any CGI other than the saber blade and laser blasts. I heard that two guys played Vader and I'm assuming the second guy was for all the sword play. That's how they handled Vader in the OT, and to me it also seemed that the suit fit better on the second guy in the last scene.

Pretty much this.

Nothing really stuck me as being CGI about it, other than the saber blade and the laser blasts as mentioned. The second actor playing Vader was supposedly a stunt swordsman, so I presume that was all him doing the tricks when blocking the laser blasts.

so after watching RO i decided its finally time to pull the trigger but just for clarification. the sideshow vi vader sucks right? it looks off to me and i never really liked it from seeing initial pics. hot toys anh and esb vader is where its at? esb vader is considered the better one out of them all right? but both are long sold out? i have trouble distinguishing from all 3
thanks guys

thanks for clarifying this i dont know why i thought there was an esb one. so the anh vader is a no brainer then unless the rogue one vader becomes available again

Depends what look you're going for. If you like his general R1 look or if you're not going for any specific film look and just want a Vader figure in general to represent Vader right now in your collection, then I'd say go for the R1 Vader. If you specifically like his ANH look, then go for the ANH Vader and swap out some parts on there with improved R1 parts if you find it necessary (gloves, belt, belt boxes, etc).

However, HT will most, most likely be making an ESB Vader at some point in the probably near future, so if that's the look you ultimately want, I'd just wait for that. Presuming you only want one representation of Vader of course.

The "best" one really comes down to your personal preference.

I still don't understand why they didn't make his outfit a bit more similar to ANH version in the movie. Technically the movie rolls straight into ANH

The outfit in the movie was a lot more similar to ANH than the hot toys figure depicts.

The R1 Vader figure to me pretty much looks like...

the way he looked in his first scene in his armor when he was speaking to Krennic on Mustafar. It seemed like as you got further along in the film, particularly the last scene with his saber, you were getting closer to ANH territory.

on mustafar he just came out of his tank so his armor was shiny and new. Then after his fight scene it would have gotten pretty beat up like it is at the beginning of anh. So it kind of works.

My sentiments also.

I wish I had of waited and not rushed in with Vader!
The Rogue One version is 1000x better and doesn't have the stupid gimmicky over priced sound feature.

I love the glossy helmet on the Rogue One Version, wish I could find just the Head and the Tunic for sale.

Sell it and buy this one then?

1000X better???:huh

New figure syndrome. Always happens. I'll give the Rogue One Vader two months before it's old news and considered crap before the next Vader figure ultimately comes out and everyone hypes up that one as 10000000000000000000x better.

To each their own. As I like to say, people have the Right to their opinion, but that doesn't mean they're right.

Exactly this. :lecture
