Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I'm guessing the one on the left is from ROTJ...looks like he has sad eyes. The "widow's peak" on the right helmet makes it look more serious and angry. Yet another reason not to like ROTJ :lol

Yup, I just added that to my post, RoTS is on the left. You did mean Sith and not Jedi, right? :lol

Of the three prequels, Sith is the only one I own on DVD. I don't think it's as good as any of the three OT films, but at least I can watch it, unlike the first two.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Well, if so, then its just my anticipatory aggravation unleashed on you unfairly, and I apologize. But that kind of thing happens so often -- not just to me, I've seen others be a victim of it -- that it gets me.

I know we disagree about the HT/SS relationship to some degree. But my gut tells me that they won't release droids (3PO and R2 any time soon) -- at least I believe that, which would hold with your position. But I will say that I wouldn't be surprised if they did reveal the droids at some point before VII. I don't think they will, but I wouldn't be surprised.

That's said -- HT Vader's here! :panic:
No worries, Wor-Gar. :duff Just to be clear, if I came across as peeved at all, I wasn't. I am finding all the "HT is crapping on SSC" posts this morning off target, though. Thinking about it more, since SSC did pay the premium for Disney's license, I can't imagine that they'd have done so w/o an agreement with HT not to release directly competing products or some such. If HT wanted to (and supposing they had an alternative to SSC's distribution in place), they could drive SSC right out of SW 1:6, so it would be suicidal to pay the license w/o some sort of understanding. My theory on 3PO/R2 is that they will be released as part of Ep VII.

Exciting times, indeed, to be a SW collector. Can't wait until this set goes up for PO. If there's an SSC exclusive, I hope that they're allowed to sell it to Canada. The Stormtroopers were region exclusive and not available to Canadians, but luckily the exclusive there was the lame gunrack.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

So the proposed "6" (or 8 counting the original set) for ANH has come to pass:

1. Han
2. Chewbacca
3. Short Stormtrooper
4. Tall Stormtrooper
5. Ben Kenobi
6. Darth Vader
7. Luke (assumed)
8. Leia (assumed)

I believe the Luke/Leia set will be a Christmas reveal.

So up for next year is the stand-alones from ESB (2) and ROTJ (3):

My guesses:
1. Boba Fett
2. Yoda
3. Emperor
4. Jedi Luke

5. This last one is tough, could be Lando (General) or very well could be Slave Leia (by demand). I think the Slave would be more popular. It also could be the very last SET for the OT just prior to the movie's opening -- which could be ROTJ VADER with JEDI LUKE. Two Vaders? Two Lukes -- could happen. I doubt it, but... Could.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Going to point out that that dome looks bad. At least to my eyes. Hasbro is still best lol wtf. Cape looks gorgeous thoug!

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Cape looks like it even has that proper trim (although its ESB trim).

I don't see anything wrong with the helmet yet. I hope I never do.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Pre-...............................................order!

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I know there's a lot of people who do not like the ANH look, so I wonder how many people who just got their SS ESB Vader will jump onboard with HT's first Vader?

I wonder if this ANH Vader will have light-up boxes? And light-up saber? Removable helmet -- just for the hell of it?

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Crap, how in the hell am I just seeing this thread... AHHHHHHHHHH. :)

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I must be in the minority, but ANH was my favorite DV look. He looked like he had been in a few battles. He was too shiny and pristine in ESB...I guess the Empire had him pushing too many pencils :monkey3

ANH, ESB, ROTJ

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I'm going to be seriously considering this as a purchase even though my eyes definitely prefer his tunic under the chest armor. Might be considered sac religious but if I get him I'm definitely tucking that tunic under there!!!

And please, no reveal head sculpt!!!!!

Or sound chips..... Hell I don't think I even want functioning lights...

Me too man, love the rough, dirty looking ANH Vader. That Vader looked like he was always ready for a fight and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Going out in a single fighter to kill rebels only made him more threatening and just plain cool. This was a guy that actually looked like he could hunt down some Jedi and kill them or whatever other nasty work that he may have gotten up to in the early years of the Empire.

As much as I love Vader from Empire and Jedi, and I really do, he seemed like more like a guy that had been promoted to a cushy government office job with a nice fat paycheque but had to spend most of his time managing underlings. "T-rex doesn't want to be fed, he wants to hunt.."

Vader seemed just as evil in empire, choking his coworkers left and right, though in ANH he was also getting in his ship and shooting down rebels--definitely a little more hands on (Antilles, etc.) I think it would have helped if we saw him on Hoth a little more. Maybe slaying a couple rebels with his saber before tracking down the falcon. Everything Hoth was so awesome it's easy to want more.
