Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

So we could end up with:

- ANH Luke/Leia 2-Pack
- ESB 2-Pack
- ROTJ 2-Pack

and ROTJ/TFA Luke 2-Pack to bind original and sequel lines together.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

No prob I will post more hints if I get more solid info.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I'd bet on it.

Damn. :lol They aren't holding back. R2 and 3PO will also be a 2 pack and an obvious one at that. I wonder if they're going to make the two droids Diecast to separate it from Sideshows version.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I wonder if this will come with actual brush-strokes. That would make this really stand out!

Let's hope they have a legend eFx vader available for reference then, or any custom helmet equally or more accurate .....

The dome seemed too round up top, but it could be the angle....I know their vader helmet that comes with Luke Bespin has a misshapen dome ( like their "chubby" vader, but their chubby vader face is decent...I daresay very similar to medicoms sculpt.....but I hope is improved over that.....

All that said, I am stoked!

What a great Friday it was!

15 pages of guessing what else will be released... :monkey4

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Gotta say, I didn't expect a Vader yet, and really didn't think we'd see Kenobi. I'm definitely interested in both!

I don't think anyone can necessarily top Trevor's sculpt of Obi Wan (unless Trevor was doing one again), but I think getting one that is better scaled and has more skin texture could help. And of course getting HT quality paint work will be what we've all wanted.

The Sideshow Kenobi can be made to look incredible... but for what it costs to buy one used ($150) and then get him painted, swap the body and hands and you're probably getting close to what a new HT figure will cost.

I've got SS Ben without an improved paintjob... and I'm eager to get one that looks good right out of the box.

I love Trevor's sculpt -- can't really improve on it -- but like you, I think HT paintwork is just so outstanding that this one will be ready to go upon arrival. I never liked the SS jedi robe much.

At this point, I'm revamping my entire Star Wars collection to just the new HT pieces and the SS droids.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I think HT is out to bankrupt me. Already preordered Chewbacca and will soon order the Stormtrooper. I already have the SS Vader deluxe which I love. I'll have to hold off on this one for a while. But an Old Ben would be a nice edition.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Da hell is wrong with vaders helmet?? Looks really odd from the side

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

The top of the dome (the crown?) looks to be not as tall but the thing that stands out to me is it looks to be a nice large dome overall. I don't know that there's enough to get too excited or angered about with just this angle. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417316188.552637.jpg

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Seems the dome is always a tough thing to crack when it comes to Vader. I'm hoping they knock the Guinness sculpt outta the park, as Kenobi has always been a fave of mine.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Makes you wonder how difficult it could possibly be to nail a mask perfectly. Human faces, totally get why they are difficult, but a mask is hard to get perfect? Hard to understand.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Does your SS one look better?

I dont know. I hadnt seen this version of vaders helmet from the side in a long time. Is this from ANH? Just a general observation about the design itself, not the figure, it looks weird from the side. Like... short or something. Dunno
