The pleather gloves are a pretty cool idea - were the movie gloves two distinct pieces, glove and gauntlet?

I don't think so. These purport to be replicas of the real thing:

Hot Toys have made them in two pieces to allow wrist articulation, but they look flippy flappy.

These shots look better. Hes still only a parts buy for me though. I just dont see enough here to justify another full Vader purchase. If they get the mask dome right and the chest boxes those are bought, along with the gloves. The rest is meh. Of course, the head will be $150 and the chest box and gloves will be $75 so ill prolly be better off buying the whole damn thing anyway.

Those pics are way too photoshopped to make much of a call, but I bet it will be great.

By "great" you mean massively downgraded from the proto and horribly soft and vinyl looking, right?

It just seems weird that SSC went ahead and made Vader V2 ginormous after all the flack on V1, and now HT has again made him too tall. The reverse seems to be happening with R2 where it seems he's always under scaled.

Im keeping the ANH suit which I like more than this, and the old codpiece is fine with me. But yeah, if were talking about the 2.0 then this is a way better suit. The height thing is weird, and frustrating as hell.

Yeah, that ANH suit is awesome - the HT one looks fairly close to that though (well, let's wait on in-hand for that determination.) The SSC DX one looks like Hasbro - not sure how that happened after the SSC V1 looking so great.

The Vader height is a problem because it can't be fixed easily. I've seen a few "shortened" SSC Vaders and the boots visually seem to go too far above the knees, so the armor pieces are designed/scaled for that larger height. Because he's black and glossy you don't notice it as much as you would on other characters, but it's still a bummer.

Vader really isn't that tall compared to stormies and other imperials - he's like a tall normal guy, not freakishly tall like Chewy/Mayhew.

Something Revenge of the Sith Vader looking about him. Mask looks too surprised looking and anime(ish). Also too tall like Sideshows versions.

Meh. Boring, expensive release. In the end, Sideshow's versions will have had better value I bet. Cool breathing gimmick though . . .

Love the mimic pose of the first 1977 Vader poster.

The HK price is $243 when converted to US dollars. Sideshow usually adds an extra 10% for their cut but after they added 20% to the price of the MK 43 and Boba Fett all that's gone out the window so if they follow regular pricing it should be around $269.99 but i would bet they will put a $290-300 sticker price on this, ESPECIALLY since they are making a new batch of their Vader Deluxe for release next month and they would rather sell more of those for obvious reasons. Not to mention they have a new Vader PF coming soon. It's why grocery stores sell their own brand products for less than the competition. They will mark this up for sure

Chest box in sixth scale should roughly be 2.8 cm in height and width.

The chest should be sunken in a bit as he wasn't as buff as in ESB. The current look is very ESB.

From my local comic store, i lived in south east asia, really surprise that this HT is cheaper than sideshow. I order the sideshow for $250
