Looking forward to seeing more photos of the HT Obi Wan and not endless photos of sideshow repaints.

Me too, but I am glad those who got Sideshow repaints are happy with them :)

Looks good man, I like the iconic pose :clap Is that a stock body or something different? I just tried to put my Sideshow in that pose and can't get his arm to be enough to get his hand near his belt.

Took some more natural light shots today and reposed and redressed/refutzed ben, can't do much with the turtleneck as its at its lowest point before you see the adapter. I've gotten used to the robes now and its material to my futzing advantage lol.

I like the pose and the futzing :clap

I still go back and fourth on the likeness, some earlier picks of yours looked more like Guinness and this one seems more "generic". I know that angles and lighting have a lot to do with this but there are other elements too. I wonder if this sculpt is like the Hot Toys Bespin Luke? I know it's not perfect either, but it looks so much better in hand, and more like Hamill in hand, than most photographs of it. Pictures can flatten out an image and distort how it looks in real life. I am not saying that in real life it might look spot on, I just wonder what the general consensus will be about the likeness once people get it in hand.

Stealth what is your impression of the light up sabre? Good, bad, indifferent? Think it'll tap out in a few months or sturdy enough to last for a bit?

Yeah light and shadows play a huge role in the likeness. I am still more than happy with I look at it in person on my shelf and see Guinness as obi :duff

I like it, the battery's are only small cells like iron man's so long periods of time being on they'll die fast. If they are turned on only for pics they should last a while. I however will be upgrading to a cathode soon I think.

cathode? I googled it and found a bunch of technical jargon that went over my head. Is this just a matter of getting a different kind of battery? I am assuming to make it longer lasting?

Honestly the likeness isnt the problem, what throws it off for me anyway is the expression. Its too serious and squinty, alec always had his eyes normal and open.

hmmm... trying to find some more "serious" picks of Guinness...

:exactly: we can go to SS Kenobi thread and nit pick the sculpt and repaint efforts. Let's keep, this, thread for nit picking HT Kenobi :wink1:

Stealth and Para keep the pics coming

Half the conversation is people wondering if they should repaint their SS one instead though, so I think plenty of us find it useful to see those as well. It still mainly highlights for me the higher production quality and finish on Hot Toys effort.

And I'm in total agreement with the bolded comment. :)

I'd suggest those interested in repaints visit SS Kenobi thread and those with repaints of said sculpt can post and chat about them in the proper place. This thread is for HT Kenobi and I'd prefer it not be cluttered with SS pics especially when a separate thread exists for that figure.

Is this how we get to the point where everyone solely gushes when in-hand pics come out? We all have preferences about how a conversation or thread should go, doesn't mean they're gonna come to pass, especially when dozens of people are involved in a thread.

They're custom sabres with a CCFL blade that lights up much more brightly and consistantly than LED (also wired and require power). Check out Pixelpiper's thread in the For Sale section to see more. They're a nice display option, for sure.
