Australian folks - Urban Attitude have received their Obi Wan shipment and are charging and posting out today (24th). :)

So...I ordered Obi-Wan on Monday with three day shipping and the tracking says it should HAVE arrived yesterday. I checked the tracking today and it says it left CA three days ago. So...should I be concerned? :panic:

Every Hot Toys figure I've bought from Big Bad has said "Sub-Standard Quality" but arrived in pristine mint condition. They put that as a CYA in case someone complains about the box being dented or something.

So glad I ordered this just 2 days before they completely sold out. My "sub-standard" Obi-Wan arrived in pristine mint condition. Couldn't be more pleased. I'll probably be swapping out his robes though with the Sideshow ones.

My wife and I do all we can for our kids on Christmas and haven't exchanged gifts with each other for around 10 years. About two yeas ago we fell on particularly hard financial times due to my wife and her credit and I had to sell off my entire collection of around 20+ Hot Toys to raise money to help us get by. Although it was painful to do I was happy to have the ability to do it and as a husband and father it kinda comes with the territory. She swore at the time that I would get my collection back, I know she said it from an honest and grateful place but I didn't actually believe it. This morning while handing out the gifts for my family I suddenly came across a random gift for me from her, it was Hot Toys Obi Wan, I was blown away, my wife is a girly girl and not overly familiar with geek culture but she took the time to figure out what figure I would like and found a way to drop that kinda cash on it without blinking an eye. This is now easily my "Grail" piece of my collection as so many like to call icertain figures but not for the same reasons as those.

I am insanely jealous; not only did you receive an awesome figure but there is a real, genuine, emotional connection to your Ben Kenobi figure. Thank you very much for sharing.

Looking mine over, I was rather taken with how the robe just works. It hangs so nicely. I remember having to water treat the SSC robes to get it to hang. I couldn't get the hood right, but the HT hood hangs just right, has that signature peak to it. Only had one slight malfunction as the ankle peg wasn't set in the leg right and was stuck angled into the boot, and it was a real PITA to get unstock. Didn't even bother with the light-up arm, the fat hilt bugs me.

Hellion, thank you for sharing that. I'm so glad you got that and you seem to be so lucky with a caring wife. Merry Christmas 😊

There was a time when a figure first came out that parted out items flooded eBay and you were able to snatch up a deal here and there. I've done this with numerous releases. I haven't been able to do it with Old Ben here. All pieces are BIN and, IMO, absurd prices.

Yeah I buy standard and don't pay for "collector" grade because EVERY figure they have sent me is double-boxed PERFECT!

I just ordered this from SS. Yes!

Im excited about this one...However, I am concerned at the estimated ship date of February?

What happened? I see everyone getting theirs now and posting all of these awesome pictures.

It seems manufacturers are releasing figures by waves lately. Must be due to open edition series. They don't want to get too much stock and make sure they sell out of the initial batch before releasing more..

That's great, if true. Should help the run sizes match demand instead of so many figures getting discounted down the track.

How much waves does Hot Toys usually make these days?

Still debating if I should get this one or SS since all my Star Wars 1/6 are SS.

I suppose no one really knows how many units of a certain item HT (or SSC) make these days. It all depends on demand. For all i know, old Ben could be sold out tonight or in a couple months :dunno
