A "moron". Where do I start.

If your wife is going to die and the people you trust with your life are telling you "Let it be" do you just let it be? Or do you entertain the idea that she CAN be saved even though its a proposal by the devil himself?

It had nothing to do with trust (something you clearly didn't have the foresight to see). It was about the possibility of saving her. If there was a chance he was going to pursue it and Palpatine sold him on what a strong chance he could give him. There was nothing moronic about his attempts to save her.

The fact that you couldn't decipher the simplistic plot of a man selling his soul for love really shows your epic bias. Dude, you weren't even trying to understand this movie.

Another good post.

Let me explain.

Anakin has visions/dreams about Padme dying. Jedi can sometime predict the future in there dreams. Anakin is very concerned this is going to happen and needs to find a way to save Padme.

Palpatine... after getting to know Anakin over the course of years becomes someone Anakin can trust and talk to... Palpatine begins to slowly manipulate Anakin and mentions a Sith has the power to cheat death.

Anakin slices Mace's arm off because Mace was about to kill Papatine and Anakin needed Palpatine to help save Padme.

Anakin is in shock and the dark side of the force begins to slowly wash over him from all previous actions of his and the demented belief that going to the dark side would save Padme.

Anakin follows his new masters wishes and kills all the Jedi... even the younglings.

He does not cry or whine.

He "just follows his new masters wishes". Again, why? He has zero reason to. Palpatine outright admits he lied, and two seconds later Anakin just decides the devote himself and go about murdering everyone he ever knew. This is also a character who chafed at barely having to follow rules the rest of the time, but now jumps into being a blindly loyal hitman. It's beyond ridiculous.

Read this, some others should to.

:wink1:

The guy can't even describe the movie's plot right. Some people just wanna hate but have NO argument whatsoever.

The only valid one I read tonight was in regards to Windu. He felt wooden even in ROTS which is a shame since SLJ is a great actor. Wasted potential.

Everything else tonight has been bollocks.

Wow. This is incredible.

His wife is going to die (he thinks). Would you do anything to save your loved one? Yes or no. Please answer.

Anakin answered Yes, following Palps wishes he thought would help save Padme...

I can understand the Windu point.. I personally think he should have a bit bigger role in the movies over the course, but, I still enjoy the character in the movies and in other sources.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

Palpatine never admits to lying. He actually reinforced the offer to help Anakin in saving Padme:

"To cheat death is a power only one has achieved but if we work together I'm sure we can discover the secret. Now do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough with the Dark Side to save Padme."

Again, WTF are you talking about? Have you even watched this movie?

Anakin had EVERY reason to do whatever Palpatine wanted him to do. He believed in the end it would amount to saving her.

Welp, I have to sleep. Good posts SNIKT :duff Glad people like you appreciate and comprehend the PT like I do.

84 days, man. Hopefully TFA is as strong a story as ESB with fights as good as those in ROTS.

See, I can be absurd too.

Absolutely.

One thing to consider: you have been slamming people for interpreting SW their own way, but you seem unable to accept that they don't accept your interpretation of the PT.

Alot of the points you make are not points that I took away from watching this movie. Anakins characterization and how his fall was shown was very flawed in my opinion.

And the Anakin died in ROTS-theory? That is just wrong from what was established in the OT.

Have you ever read one bad thing about the OT on these boards? I have not. That is why I think the OT lovers think it is perfect, you never read one criticism from them about it, ever. In there mind it is perfect.

Many people, myself included, have made comments about dodgy acting, poor dialogue and inconsistent writing and tone in the OT.

Either that was before your time on these boards, or you missed it.

The OT gets by on charm, mystery, simplicity and heart plus historic context.

Wow! Heated battles over PT? This just got pointless.

It also shows a much more in depth fall from grace in the novelization of Revenge of the Sith than it does in the movie. It's pretty much the same but they left out a lot of Anakin's struggle. In the novel Anakin has been spoon fed dark side theory since he was 9. Palatine has cultivated a strong pupil over the years so it just doesn't happen in 20 minutes like it does in the movie. The book shows Palpatine trying to turn on Padme and the Senate. Trying to make him believe that the senate is corrupt and flawed and can accomplish nothing without its own benefit. Palpatine is trying to show Padme as being a part of that hypocrisy. When Anakin refuses to turn on her Palpatine shifts gears and uses Anakin's fear of losing Padme in his dream against him. Filling his mind with suggestions that make the Jedi Council the corrupt ones for not allow him to go from a Jedi Knight to a Jedi Master.

In the movie he just seems like a whiny kid screaming, "I wanna be a master boo hop!" But in the book only a Jedi Master can access the deep archives of the Jedi library where the most secret knowledge of the force is kept. He is not angry simply because he wants the status of being a master but because he wants to access the materials that may help him save Padme's life.

Coupled with the fact that Anakin spent 5 days without sleep racking his brain trying to come up with a way to save her. One, he didn't want to sleep because he was afraid he'd have the dream again, and Two he stayed awake obsessing over not being made master so he could have total access. So in his own way he blamed the Jedi for their shortsightedness. Claiming they should have seen his potential and gave him the title.

Okay, peeps. You can get your point across to other members without name calling or being disrespectful.

Thread cleaned.

So...how about that Kylo Ren figure?

Looks fantastic. Hopefully it won't sell out before I see the movie. I won't drop the hammer till after I see what this guy can do.

*sigh*

Okay, Freaks, either stick to the thread topic or take it to PMs. Don't make me break out the Freaks Be Good Stick AKA the ban hammer.

Thread cleaned. Again.
:clap I wouldn't stray too far from this thread.....

I was just around the corner getting a double mocha cappuccino. :)

Fine....

OK, who thinks that HT will release Kylo Ren #2 with the Adam Driver head sculpt?

Also, do you think there will be an "Ultimate Ren" armored-warrior final battle outfit in the movie?

Last thing, can someone please educate me on the Knights of Ren?

They can release it, but unless he spends a significant amount of time without it on in the film I can't see myself getting one, because I'd rather display Ren with the helmet on, the same way I'd rather see Darth Vader's helmet, than Anakin's grey old man face.
