OK, who thinks that HT will release Kylo Ren #2 with the Adam Driver head sculpt?

His
X-Wing suit
can justify a second figure that has the Driver head sculpt.

Also, do you think there will be an "Ultimate Ren" armored-warrior final battle outfit in the movie?

Nope. Hope not either.

Last thing, can someone please educate me on the Knights of Ren?

We know nothing so far other than Kylo was one of them. Since Snoke is his master he is presumably also a Knight of Ren.

I just don't see the point in this thread anymore...

Snoopy, you should have split the thread... ;) I always thought the title was a ruse to make sure to keep the post count manageable.

Do we know if the Knights of Ren are actual Sith... or Sith in training?

We know Kylo is a Sith after all, despite J.J.'s throw-you-off-the-scent comments.

Some TFA card game released last week confirmed Rey is the Jedi, Kylo the Sith and Finn is just Finn.

J.J. seems to be trolling us quite a bit with misinformation. Its Star Trek Into Darkness all over again.

I find myself agreeing with this. There's nothing really to discuss about this figure that hasn't been said. I found the previous conversation an entertaining and informative read. I do agree name calling should be left out of it. But just because two groups of people have different opinions and can't agree to just one doesn't mean the conversation should have to end. I see that happen way too often at this place. I don't know if its Dave's orders or if its just the moderators that want everyone to get along. I just like to see things play out. I had nothing to contribute to the discussion that wasn't already said.

Very interesting. So the real question is: is this a flashback... does he have a secret day-job.... or do they resolve his allegiance that quickly in film one?

I'm thinking flashback, which will be a first for Star Wars.

Well, they have had "dream" moments in the OT and PT... so maybe it is in that context.

I'd kind of like it if he was a double-agent spy within the rebel alliance. That's evil.

Um... that is a GAME with very simplistic groupings... Sad to see "Droid Army" there but none the less, it does not mean anything is set in stone. I play with the Topps SW card trader app too and not everything fits so neatly into their categories either. They may have had to just break that up based on allegiances not necessarily true classifications. It says "Power Link" so that just may be some context for these allegiances for game purposes.

As far as Driver in the X-wing suit, that could be merely the opposite situation of Finn in Stormtrooper gear, ie going under cover. I mean if you took stills from ANH with Han and Luke in Stormtrooper disguise before the movie came out you would have had a hard time trying to guess what is going on.

Well... Finn holds a lightsaber and he is not listed as a Jedi..... and no way there are no Sith at all in this movie so JJ is probably trolling with the Knights of Ren stuff... chances are to me this is most likely correct.

Plus it seems a bit odd that they would put a potential spoiler by plonking a Jedi symbol on Rey's card.

Its a licensed card game based on the movie. Why would they lie? Why randomly classify Rey as a Jedi and Finn as just Finn? Why classify Kylo as a Sith if he's not?

People read way too much into J.J.'s "Kylo is not a Sith" comments, which are clearly this movie's answer to "Cumberbatch is not playing Khan."

Yep. J.J. loves misdirection.

I'm not surprised by the reveals since I always figured Rey would be the Jedi ("You have that power too."), Kylo the Sith (if it looks like a Sith its probably a Sith) and Finn just a Stormtrooper who defects.

Not saying anyone or anything is lying.. those are "Power Links" in a simplistic card game, nothing to base entire allegiances or their use of the force yet.

I am not reading anything into what J.J. says. There is the light side and the dark side of the force. Just because you don't subscribe to either Jedi or Sith does not mean you are not allied with that basic black and white concept (Night Sisters, Eldars, etc). At the same time, I am certainly not reading too much from a card game, licensed or not. The game is probably pretty simplistic, especially at this point.. wait to see if booster packs are released after the movie comes out and then lets see where the chips lie.

To me, a good movie would involve lots of shades of gray as the Force Awakens. There are a lot of creatures out in the galaxy that may or may not be affected by it.

Nevertheless, you're arguing that a licensed card game based on the film is wrong.

You'd have a point if the symbols read "Dark Side" or "Light Side". There's a reason they don't - which to me is pretty obvious: Rey is the film's rising Jedi and Kylo the rising Sith.

I'm not against the idea of gray areas in the Force but Star Wars in the end is about Good vs. Evil, the good being the Jedi and the Evil being the Sith.

If you're against the idea of Kylo being a Sith and Rey a Jedi then I think the movie will disappoint you.

and no way there are no Sith at all in this movie

There were no Sith in Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi. There was one guy who had the title, "Lord of the Sith" but nothing about any Sith people/empire/race/whatever.

If you're against the idea of Kylo being a Sith and Rey a Jedi then I think the movie will disappoint you.

Life must disappoint you a lot, as I'm guessing you believe at least 50% of what you write about and seeing as 100% of that is just plain wrong...

Card game... :slap There simply aren't the words to describe how ludicrous this has now become. Can we get back to the PT - at least everyone's seen those movies because, you know, they've been released.
