Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

No 12" figure can hold a gun properly in the 2 handed pose.

That makes no sense, I've been able to get figures to hold rifles and other larger guns with 2 hands and look natural.

holding the gun forward? REally, who shoots rifles holding them forwards? :lol

Id like to see what you are talking about.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

Quick example, holding guns like this.

Tbh I was talking about holding a rifle in a shooting pose.

What do I know, maybe you can achieve this and make it look natural.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

Gotcha, well I was thinking in terms of holding it and looking natural at all, because the Predator Dutch figure isn't great at it, so some figures can be hindered to 2 hand holding a weapon and looking natural, but they're exceptions.

As far as the pose you posted, this looks pretty close.

I will agree that the design of 1/6 bodies though, you can't full hunch the shoulders to hold in that postion and tilt the head to aim through the sight.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

It may be difficult and despite great effort it still may not look completely natural but 1/6th figures are your best hope for it at any rate.

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

I have one of my custom 101 airborne 1/6ths holding his rifle RIGHT below his eye like that photo, a little down, looks really good to me, can grab a pic if you like. Well, looks NATURAL to me, is what i should say, i suppose :p I do remember it was alot of stuffing around bending the arm back though, as you would hold a rifle in real life, because there is only so far back the shoulder and elbow can bend, where as in real life, we can pull our shoulder ALL the way up and back, stretching, where teh figures dont usually have that much articulation

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

It's funny I was watching the movie on my computer yesterday and that's not the gun he had with that outfit.

Don't get me started on that one! I asked Hot Toys why they didn't give him the HK416 but didn't get an answer! I guess the real answer is that it saves them money as they already had the M4 used with other military figures.

Yeah, I have that one. Nice huh?

This pose is very hard to achieve with my connor....his gloves cover his wrists so looses articulation, his arms do not come togther close enough and as soon as u raise his arms higher than his waist all his ammo pouches and shizzle fall off

But you are able to achieve that pose, right? Though the jacket does seem very restrictive. how thick is the pleather material?

As for being able to achieve a 2 handed rifle firing position (discussed earlier), if I can convincingly replicate it on an Enterbay Jack Bauer body, then most other comparable 1/6 figures can do it:

I just wish he came with another interchangeable gripping fist.

My John Connor can achive that pose easily (I have him in that aiming pose but stand up)..perhaps your Truetype body has loose elbow joints or something,..because the leather jacket is softer than Leon,s,for example.
I can tell you that the range of motion is pretty good and the same you see in that pic.

About the wrists joints Well..you can change the direction of the peg itself and move down (check the peg)

For your problem with the ammo pouches you could try super glue..if you need it:sick

I have that same gun and the shotgun mag falls out all the time. I had to superglue mine in too. Not like Im pulling th clip out all the time or anything.

I got Jack the other day and the Enterbay body is fantastic - so easy to pose - creating a very *natural* looking pose everytime

Re: Hot Toys Terminator: Salvation-John Connor- spec + hi-res pics

Molded gloves are one of the major problems when trying to obtain really tight firing poses, the jacket probably doesnt help either. You could pull the wrist peg out a few clicks and maybe get some more bend out of the wrist. Maybe rip some of the jacket lining out to gain some more room for the arms and shoulder to articulate as well as get the stock closer to the body.
