Maybe HT needs to give that BCS launchpad route a shot? Not a bad idea for these more expensive figures without huge fan bases.

All this considered, it doesn't make sense to me that they would build an intricate prototype and then lug it (them) around the world to positive response (over a year after the film has come and gone) without relatively serious intent. Isn't Keaton set to show up in Far from Home? If I were Hot Toys, I'd put this guy up when FFH is gearing up to hit theatres. Capitalize on the reinvigorated Spidey hype.

Damn. Bad news. And probably very truthful. It would take a lot of interest for HT to bother with this effort. And even in this thread alone there isn't much support except from the same small group of people.

Too bad though... what a monster of a display piece this would make. It will have to live forever in the fantasy of my mind...

Time to redo the first 7 Iron Men again with full die cast and properly scale heads.

Not enough interest out there for them to justify them making this, but apparently there was plenty for gems such as the Joker Batman Imposter and that porcelain patterned stormtrooper. :lol

Personally, I'm somewhat skeptical of Sideshow's inside info with respect to HT's intentions. Their info regarding HT hasn't always been that reliable. If it does get shelved it will be disappointing. I think this would actually sell out quite quickly if if it was released, even if the price tag was at the high end of our guesstimates. There have been plenty of figures that have had lukewarm initial reception in this forum which ended up selling out. Regardless, I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. :lecture

This is all new, the Joker and Stormtrooper were just figures already made with a new paint job.
I have not given up on this yet. Someone at SSC also said that they did not think they would be getting dark side Anakin to sell online about 3 hours before it went on sale :lol

I’m doubtful as well as ALL of the insiders I’ve ever talked to at SDCC say they have no real idea of what HT is gonna do. That being said, as of late, they make as many items for Howard’s personal collection as they do for purchase. :slap
It’s a crap shoot and we won’t know until after the FFH lineup is complete and even then it’s anybodys guess. I’m sure they are all Avengers 4 right now anywho.

Some people just can't accept the truth.
Too expensive to make + Not enough interest in this character = Never gonna be released.

Not purely doubting what’s been said. We all know the HT routine right now. They show, they tease, they make a decision in the dark. That’s been the way of it for a long time. No scoop on that front. It’s even been said that our market is not the litmus, so there’s that unknown factor as well. That being said, there are a ton of Coming Soon Items on SS website, some of which have lingered for years which may be proof HT doesn’t telegraph nor directly communicate to their distributor if/when an item is going to be developed until the very moment it’s oficially announced. So yeah, expect SOME skepticism for such a declaritive report.

Yes but it's Hot Toys "cutting edge" market interest tools that decide yes/no.

i.e let's see how many people ask about it at a con and go by that number. What BS.....ever heard of the internet HT ???

Keaton confirmed for another stab at Vulture. There will undoubtedly be a variation to his suit so they can get at least 2 figures out. This will be made. Sideshow is a speck of their entire distribution. They probably don't know ****.

Having two releases for this definitely helps justify costs for HT. We just don't know how minimal the interest is though.

True. I don't think they really care anymore. They're all about statues now anyway.

Yep. Trying to heavily peddle that court of the dead crap since they have no licensing fees to pay.
It's a bit of a gamble, but the tech has to be pretty similar to the Falcon wings. If you've tooled up to make the prototype... I think they vastly underestimate the interest. Any hardcore spidey fan from the comics would love a vulture. My guess anyway.

Respectfully Wor-Gar, I'm with customizerwannabe on this one. I think plenty of people expressed their interest in this thread, it's just that many were pessimistic about its release and/or had concern over the possible price tag. But pessimism does not equal disinterest, and most would probably exceed their previously stated price ceiling if it actually was made. Pretty much SOP around here. :lol

Well its been pretty much you and me keeping this thread afloat for the last few months, even against Motux's wishes. There was a lot of interest initially, but that seems to have passed. Now its maybe 8 people that come here with any regularity.

I normally would have done my part to keep this thread alive, but there's no sense in doing so if it makes no difference as to whether or not HT actually release it... Plus that way I can avoid getting yelled at by the snowflakes who don't like seeing a thread for an unreleased figure constantly pop up. :lol

Granted there are few still posting in the thread, but there are likely more (like Chakor) who keep tabs on it out but no longer bother to comment.

I keep checking this thread but honestly my interest is lukewarm. I would like to have it, but there is a lot of other stuff I would rather have. I guess it depends on price and the options.
