From Toyworld foum

That's perfect.

they don't even need to add additional padding to his chest and abs...all they have to do is shade it in to give it the illusion...JUST LIKE THE MOVIE.

Yeah, but if the suit doesn't sit just right on his body, shading on the suit would look off and weird. I think a more form fitting suit would be the answer, but I'm not sure if the material exists that could do that effectively at that scale.

According to BBTS they are looking for a cheaper supplier, so the price will probably come down
They have also stated that all the orders at the previous price will be honored
BBTS so crazy

the suit already is tight enough as is...i think any tighter, any dynamic pose, something is bound to tear.

as for the idea of shading it in, you have to remember, they did it for the actual suit...under ANY lighting condition, you still his 'defined' body.

i mean, toby got buff for the movie, but c'mon, he didn't get RIPPED enough for his pecs and abs to actually cast a shadow on the suit itself, which is why the suit had shaded muscles to give it the illusion. and if the suit doesn't sit right, well, a simple way to fix that is, readjust it. i mean, whenever we pose any of our figures, something is gonna end up looking off and the perfectionist in all of us adjust it so it's perfect.

You wouldn't be able to pose him certain ways (say, with his arms pointed up) without messing up the positioning of the shadows. Re-positioning the suit wouldn't work there because moving the body forces the suit into certain positions. Ultimately, the suit would need to be glued to his body (I suspect the real one was stuck on in such a way), and that would potentially create new issues. It isn't necessarily about simply being tighter, but showing off more detail under the suit.

you do make a good point. well i guess they can always go with extra padding glued onto the body itself. considering how he's already wearing a 'wet suit' of some sort, maybe shading AND padding might make it more pronounced?

I think the shading by itself would be sufficient, but just getting it to stay in place without potentially putting stress on the suit when it goes to certain positions would seem difficult to do. Maybe there is "space age" material out there they can use that won't be harmed when stretched that way.

If it is tight and the material is too thick or doesn't otherwise show the detail under the suit, what difference does it make how tight it is? The outfits on Sideshow PFs are plenty tight, but many folks hate it because it hides the sculpt underneath.

ordered mine at sideshow for 139 and i don't care if it come's out in japan earlier then sideshow I must wait and save money for this awesome piece.

Lol i cant wait til people complain about superman's curl being shorter then in the movie.

I don't mind the above modifications, but I prefer the outline of the eyes to stay dark black. Screen accurate or not, it just looks better.

BBTS, Sideshow, or Viking Playground only for pre-orders for me. They charge when they ship, and don't penalize you for cancellations (though Viking does frown on it)

I agree with this. It'd be the simplest (theoretically, I suppose) solution, and it'd be just like the movie suit, as you said.

I don't believe that'll be a problem, necessarily. It'd be as much a problem as keeping the spider chest emblem dead center on the figure when posing it, which from pics looks like it doesn't shift around much.

I don't know if you guys missed it, but on page 5 of this thread, some magazine scans were posted with a block of chinese text that was translated the page after. It read that underneath the figure's spider suit is a tighter fabric suit worn on the TT body to help hide the obvious joints. I feel that the suit would be tight enough that patterns shifting around won't be an issue.
