:lol You monger, you.

I'm sure you didn't mean to sound affronting, mrclean08, but your post did come off as being a little less than cordial. It's all good though -- it can be difficult to interpret body language through text. :peace

Whether the chipping issue was legitimate or not, your looking out for us and giving a heads up was certainly genuine, franpincho, so thanks a lot for your concern. :grouphug And congratulations on scoring what looks like an amazing figure! :hi5:

Thanks man! I honestly didn't know about those paint apps, and yes, HT fooled me big time.
I'm glad I skipped the whole sideshow complaint though. That would've been funny!

If that is what he meant then he is making no sense. It seems like someone made that stupid statement a while ago and others just picked it up and kept repeating it withing thinking. To say a sculpt of RDJ does not look like RDJ but looks like Tony Star is flat out stupid. Any version of Tony Stark I have seen excluding RDJ'S portrayal looks nothing like RDJ. How could it? Its time to put that particular nonsense to bed.

Wow man, I didn't know that not liking certain HS likeness could be so frustrating. You should probably try chilling a little bit, it's just a doll, you know?

In case you are unaware, all of these characters have existed for several decades well before the films came out. They have all had several different looks over the years which is why these figures don't always look like the actors that currently play the roles but do still look like the source material. If that doesn't make sense to you then perhaps you are the one that is flat out stupid...

Hate? That is a pretty strong word when any normal person would say there is nothing wrong with this sculpt. I always find it amazing that HT usually turns out great sculpts but certain people goes to the extreme with their reactions to it. Obviously its in Hot Toys interest to ignore the extremists since their views are soo far out of the mainstream.

And you would consider your views mainstream then? Don't make me laugh!

The whole purpose of these figures is to represent the actor who portrayed the character on film; thinking the likeness looks like one of dozens of artistic interpretations from over the years misses the point. It either looks like RDJ or it doesn't; and if it doesn't, it fails.

That's your opinion and its irrelevant as I wasn't explaining if the head sculpt fails or not.

If the head sculpt on a MOVIE MASTERPIECE Iron Man doesn't look like RDJ, it doesn't matter if you think I looks like Tony Stark, or Mother Theresa for that matter. It has failed.

Then dont buy it. I dont care who it looks like as long as it looks like Stark.

Exactly man ^

none of HT sculpts has been a good RDJ until the newer IM3 mech test one and even that we'll have to wait and see how it really turns out

Pre-Ordered with Mothers Basement

Paid more than I'd have liked to, but it's still cheaper than eBay, plus I had some reward points!!

Are Mothers Basement the only place in the UK that still have it up for pre-order?? £279.99 is a bit of a high price though.

I'm still contemplating getting a spare, just in case Modelzone cancel my order!!

Don't know whether to wait until the figure actually releases, as some online retailers might have extra ones.

Does anyone know if the Mark VII be more expensive to buy once its released??
