Luckily I was watching some netflix when my phone vibrated, and I'm a "gotta check it NOW" kinda guy. Stared dumbfounded for a second at the email making sure it wasnt another "life size" or "coming soon" mail, and secured a preorder. Thankfully my fun-money account had just enough for the NRD.

I feel sorry for the people who didn't get in, I know the feeling. Especially after you have people bragging that they got multiples with the sole purpose to flip, not very cool. Don't let this end up like the Mondo art print fiasco (in the sense that the majority of people who buy are scalpers that immediately list on eBay for quadruple price). I would have gladly helped some other boardies out, had I not totally exhausted my collectible funds, and they would have paid at cost, no more.

With that said, how are you guys planning to display? I may do a laying down pose, as the base is going to either Cap or Hulk. My regular MKVII is going brand new style on a flight base in the "...his names Phil" pose, using one of the new repulsor hands from the BD.

Does anyone know of a flight base you can get a forward flying pose on?

Ahhh. My incredibly exacting English intrerpretive skills and deductive reasoning have failed me again.

Lol it is known that schizophrenia starts with one having feelings of "grandeur". Your comment proves just that :nana::nana:

Hi Mike, my fellow IM suit collector! :wave

Did you get on the waitlist anyway?

Hey Ween! I didn't, planned to do so when I got home but it's disappeared from the site, even clicking on the pic in the first post on this thread brings a blank page from my browser. Something is telling me to skip it :lol

looking back in the emails, i admit defeat. good call Aguado.

one HUGE difference though, the mark VI email was dated Wednesday at 12:28pm eastern. not a friday late afternoon.

maybe that's why the mark VI lasted several hours, some say 12 hours. i know i ordered from a heads up, not the email link.

Same thing happened to me...i was panicking

I was actually a little shocked at the price, wasn't too far off from the die cast from the new film. Flinched and missed it but I'm not too upset in the long haul, although for the cost of an "exclusive" figure or "con" or "Movie Promo" or whatever you call it if I can get a diecast it puts that line into a bit better perspective.

Mike!!! Didn't know you were still around.

I agree with you on several points. I myself wanted this figure either way. I am one that would have bought it if it were limited and or a regular standard release.
I wanted the price to be 250 at most. When it went up, and was 300, I just decided that disappointment with the price now would be a lot better then the disappointment with the aftermarket price later.

It was mentioned several times earlier but I don't see how this could've worked as a regular release. This and the MK VI Promo are just repaints of their regular release counterparts with less extras and an existing head from another figure. HT realizes things like this work best as smaller releases. It won't conflict too hard with the regular release and it doesn't appear as double dipping since they are up for PO simotanously and because of the exclusivity + price point.

I always wished someone would make stands like that. Ideally something like the New Goblin stand made of all clear acrylic. Something all clear that can achieve a horizontal flying pose would be ace too

Still open?!?! I think there will be a lot of surprised freaks when their res converts in the next week or two

The waist is most likely going to be open for several days. Considering the amount of customer service complaints they are going to receive tomorrow because this figure. They'll simply be herding the sheep to the wait list to end those very unpleasant conversations.

Customer service complaints? How come? It's not coming out till June.
How can anyone complain about it till then?

Well we've seen the complaints thus far about how unfair all of this is. I suspect folks will be contacting SSC directly to complain. And customer service reps have to field those complaints. Of course, the non-U.S. collectors aren't going to be pacified by the waitlist.

So, the SS customer service people are going to have to field calls because the pre-ordering system "was unfair"??
Unfair to who?
Everyone that didn't get one i suppose...
Can i call them up to complain that i didn't get the Avengers MKVI?

I'd love for Sideshow to be inundated with complaints over this but it'll do little good, it's sold out now :dunno

Having thought about it over the weekend I'm sure Hot Toys will provide a way of other customers to get this figure, they cant seriously limit it to a minority and piss off the majority as a business decision that would just be beyond stupid
