So, the SS customer service people are going to have to field calls because the pre-ordering system "was unfair"??
Unfair to who?
Everyone that didn't get one i suppose...
Can i call them up to complain that i didn't get the Avengers MKVI?

Well you have sat and read the gambit of reasons and displeasures this 36+ hour *****fest has produced. Now imagine the rest of the US collectors out there that may have had those situations.

My comment was mainly to address why the waitlist will be open for as long as it takes to cut down the backlash from people not happy about the offering. They can get people off of calls and chat by suggesting the wait list. I work with distribution, just providing some insight.:)

Can you also mention to them how extremely unfair it is they didn't hold back a few Spider-Man CQs for those of us who weren't collecting when it was released? Thanks!

My own complaints tomorrow along the lines of "how DARE you have the MKVI Avengers version for sale many months before i even started collecting!" will go down in history.
But i'll mention your problems too if they haven't hung up on me by that point.

complaining to SS is fruitless unless you love $25 gift cards you can only use on selected items you most likey would never want or think to purchase.

ive been dicked around with by them with legitimate inconsistencies in their service and policies and all they will ever offer is a "sorry" followed with said gift card or "you can cancel if you like" if there is already an order placed.

they don't care, they will have business either way being the official distributor for hot toys. everything has to come through them regardless.

the fact that "in stock" doesn't mean in our warehouse ready to ship should alert a lot of people to how they run their business....but its like i said, your damned if you do and damned if you don't. its all coming from them regardless if you want the item.

It is unfortunate, but this BD Mark VII had nothing to do with fair. Those that were lucky enough to get a order in got one. It was simply right place, right time.
Now, take a look at Hawkeye, everyone was given equal opportunity to acquire him till it sold out after months of time passed, so that was fair. If somebody didn't get it, they are going to have to shell out $400+bucks, tough ****. That's the market price now and if you want it, fork out the cash. If not, move along. Same deal now unfortunately with this figure.

I guess I am confused as to what exactly you expect them to do?

And if your major complaint regarding being "dicked around" is that an item didn't ship as quickly as you expected it to, then you must live a privileged and care free life.

Everyone needs to put their grownup pants on now and stop whining like a bunch of babies over a toy. Sideshow cant do anything about it, talking to some sales rep isn't going to do anything either. We get it, you are upset you didn't get it..but get over it. HT isnt going to produce more just to please you either...maybe in a year or so they might..but not now..thats why it is a promo edition..its limited..its the whole idea. Its a smart move on their part..keep things more limited and it increases the value of your products and thus the value of your company. Furby's were raking in the dough when they were hard to get...you can pay someone to take one now..once you over produce, your stock goes down and people stop caring.

some people on this forum cant help but turn into 6 year olds when they cant get a toy they want

I'd love for Sideshow to be inundated with complaints over this but it'll do little good, it's sold out now :dunno

Having thought about it over the weekend I'm sure Hot Toys will provide a way of other customers to get this figure, they cant seriously limit it to a minority and piss off the majority as a business decision that would just be beyond stupid

That is exactly how ThreeA sells their figures. The sell them for a limited time window and have certain figures arrive on the store for only a few minutes/hours. It makes them more collectible beside HT are doing like 15 more figures, people have no reason to be pissed off as they've got more than enough options for iron man figures

Let's center the ship a bit, I plan on modifying a mark vii jetpack with some battle damage and placing this version with the rest of the team with a little BD to go around on each of them.

Hopefully the jet pack can attach to this version without modification, then it's just a little paint job to get it to look like a battle time figure.

I feel the same way.

You can if you want to, I guess.
Yeah, it won't do any good, but I doubt that's a strong deterrent to people who want to vent.

i dont care either way about this issue (BD doesnt interest me). im just chiming in as to what people can expect from SSC if they do choose to call them out.

my issue comes with the fact they have two very different conflicting version of their own polices. their site vs what their CS reps are trained to say conflict with one another. what is written is will ship 3 days, they CS reps are told to say 2 weeks to customers being one example

as said in my previous posts example "in stock" doesn't mean "in stock" it means "secured stock on a shipping pallet" that could arrive at any time. it simply means there is stock "somewhere" that is expected "soon". usually system of "dont ask, dont tell" works well for them and it arrives more or less in a timely manner, but having things listed as what they are not to the consumer and having unforeseen issues come into play behind the scenes leaves them open to every criticism they deserve.

my last bad experience that warned me off using them specifically over a local mom and pop was being told an item in stock was ready to ship that turned out they had absolutely no freaking idea where the stock was but charged my card for the full amount anyways.
long story short, they wouldn't allow me to cancel without eating a NRD and the item ended up a full month and 2 weeks late. once they actually found the stock it was stuck in customs another remaining 2 weeks.

keep in mind this item was "in stock" and not a preorder.

its a horrible way to run a business, unfortunately its not going to change...as i already stated. they have the lock on HT distro in NA and if they don't make a sale "then" they will just make it later.

im not acting privileged expecting a company to run they way it should. im expecting them to hold up to what they profess they can deliver on and what information they relate to you as a customer.

as far as this thing international customers are complaining about, they should. international customers got screwed with no warning (as far as i can tell from what people have written here) on the matter until it was time for money to exchange hands and secure the item. these things should be related to the customer BEFORE sending them any solicitation for sale.

they (the internationals) didn't miss out on it out of anything because they did wrong, they missed out on lack of proper communication by the seller.

the rest of the "complainers" simply missed out...too bad so sad, better luck next time

Well anyone that really needs this, just buy a normal version and have it painted like this. Looks like the only thing that would miss is the Tony head in helmet. Everything else looks the same minus the paint.

Why, you missed ths one? Then boo fricking hoo, there's a normal version of this figure and tons more figures like it to choose from for this character.

Who are you to tell me what I should and shouldn't be happy about buying? Seriously tone down your self righteous holier than thou attitude

No one gives a crap about half the stuff you constantly moan about not being able to buy but it doesn't stop you spouting the same old **** thread after thread
