I guess I am confused as to what exactly you expect them to do?
And if your major complaint regarding being "dicked around" is that an item didn't ship as quickly as you expected it to, then you must live a privileged and care free life.
i dont care either way about this issue (BD doesnt interest me). im just chiming in as to what people can expect from SSC if they do choose to call them out.
my issue comes with the fact they have two very different conflicting version of their own polices. their site vs what their CS reps are trained to say conflict with one another. what is written is will ship 3 days, they CS reps are told to say 2 weeks to customers being one example
as said in my previous posts example "in stock" doesn't mean "in stock" it means "secured stock on a shipping pallet" that could arrive at any time. it simply means there is stock "somewhere" that is expected "soon". usually system of "dont ask, dont tell" works well for them and it arrives more or less in a timely manner, but having things listed as what they are not to the consumer and having unforeseen issues come into play behind the scenes leaves them open to every criticism they deserve.
my last bad experience that warned me off using them specifically over a local mom and pop was being told an item in stock was ready to ship that turned out they had absolutely no freaking idea where the stock was but charged my card for the full amount anyways.
long story short, they wouldn't allow me to cancel without eating a NRD and the item ended up a full month and 2 weeks late. once they actually
found the stock it was stuck in customs another remaining 2 weeks.
keep in mind this item was "in stock" and not a preorder.
its a horrible way to run a business, unfortunately its not going to change...as i already stated. they have the lock on HT distro in NA and if they don't make a sale "then" they will just make it later.
im not acting privileged expecting a company to run they way it should. im expecting them to hold up to what they profess they can deliver on and what information they relate to you as a customer.
as far as this thing international customers are complaining about, they should. international customers got screwed with no warning (as far as i can tell from what people have written here) on the matter until it was time for money to exchange hands and secure the item. these things should be related to the customer BEFORE sending them any solicitation for sale.
they (the internationals) didn't miss out on it out of anything because they did wrong, they missed out on lack of proper communication by the seller.
the rest of the "complainers" simply missed out...too bad so sad, better luck next time
