Both MOS and SR are far from perfect films, but I think MOS did a better job with the characterization of Superman. There's just way too much crap in SR to dig through to find any semblance of the character we all know and love.

Oh good god, a art house movie? What the hell is wrong with you people? SR was complete crap. It had a couple of good scenes but it was terrible. MoS is a real Superman movie. Superman was super in MoS not some weird stalker deadbeat dad.

I maintain that the best moments in Superman Returns were better than any single moment in MOS. I'm not necessarily saying its a better film overall but for me there were superior fistpumping moments in SR - helped tremendously by the reuse of the '**** yeah' Williams theme.

You'd be better off reenacting scenes by yourself to John Williams Score.

I think Superman Returns is the far better film. Is it the better Superhero film? Maybe not overall is has much better directing and a story that just flows better in my opinion.

Man of steel is a movie I couldn’t see be bad, and when I went to see it I was totally underwhelmed. Cavill I thought was great but they need a new director.

It’s his opinion whats wrong with that? I think people forget that Superman Returns received better reviews that MOS did. So there is a large amount of people that think the film is good.

I can't believe what I'm reading over here. I watched Superman returns the night after I seen MOS. And Superman Reruns is not even comparable .

Yeah I didn't think my post warranted a facepalm. It was pretty moderate really. I made sure to clarify that I wasn't saying SR is better overall.

Saying that its best moments are better than anything in MOS though isn't in any way 'out there'.

Yeah... wandering around a bearded, homeless man for 15 years, before putting on the suit and having a wanton disregard for human life sure is super. I especially liked that part when he cracked a kissing joke to Lois as the ash of the innocent rained from the sky. Or when he wrecked that government satellite after leveling half of the city in a fist fight, and said he was gonna do whatever the **** he wanted to.

Not weird at all. Snyder's Supes is a bastion of moral superiority.

It is possible that MOS was so bad that people re watched Returns and found it to actually be a good film.

SR Superman rescued a spaceship and a plane, lifted a sinking ship back out of the water and flew a continent into space. That all seemed pretty super to me. Alas the other criticisms they might level at it I would probably agree with. It was a disappointing Superman film overall - but so was MOS.

Well I didn’t like MOS at all, but I liked Cavill and I love the figure. Also for me and some other collectors and Superman fans, there is hope that the sequel can be good and make this figure even better in our eyes.
