Comparing this to the prices of 1/4 scale figures is more accurate. Its essentially the same or close to the same height as 1/4 scale figures. Just like Monger and Hulk.

But play imaginative head sculpt is more way off in my opinion even though its on bigger scale. And the proportion , paint job, parts on midas and mark 7 is better even though its in the same scale not 1/4. Thats just my opinion though

Collectiblesdirect have put their price down from £350 to £315 for layaway preorders since this morning (£295 if you pay in full up front)

Sorry. I meant comparing price.

Why in the name of arse would he be more expensive that Iron Monger?

A few reasons that would make sense (guesswork obviously) -

*Its almost the same size as Iron Monger.

*Iron Monger was concepted and created quite awhile back, so rising costs since then, will have had an effect.

*Iron Monger did not sell out quickly.

*Iron Monger was pretty much a silver 'bot' with a wash (although it did have more accessories).. Igor is a full paint job.

*Iron Monger had a QC issue and we don't know what discard costs HT incurred as a result.. everything is a learning curve.

*Igor molds may turn out to be use once (although I suspect there may be another colorway, down the road) and discard.

*Corporate investors get awkward if their dividends go down, instead of up.

Boardies can probably suggest some points I have missed and some readers' mileage may vary.

...MOAR Hottoycasts! :rock

Edit - my first reason is poorly phrased.. its almost the same height as Iron Monger, according to specs that have been quoted but I suspect it is more 'massive' ie. more solid.. it would be interesting to see a pic of the two figures, side by side.

Looks like a little price war with other suppliers, I noticed this once other pre-orders started to pop up. Good for us UK collectors and the guys who want this, bit of healthy competition is good for our wallets.

Definitely, I'm now torn between using OSB as I usually do if WaiMan comes in at the same price or possibly lower but having to pay £75 up front or going with collectiblesdirect and only having to pay £31 upfront with a more flexible layaway.

Now that the thread has died down a little I'm gonna re-post a question I asked way back around page 60.

Has Anyone ordered from ShopAFX.com before?
How fast do they get their shipments after SSC starts shipping?

https://www.shopafx.com/irmanigmaxxm.html

They are based out of Hawaii. I pre ordered from them. My total with shipping was 491.35.

FOUND INFO FROM THEIR SITE:
You guys are located in Hawaii? How long does it take for you to ship stuff from there?
Actually we have 2 shipping centers, with the main one located in Los Angeles, California, and a smaller one located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Most of the orders ship from Los Angeles, California.

If they ship from California, maybe they are drop shipped directly from SSC, therefore it would ship in the Brown shipper.

Please note if you are canceling an order paid with PayPal, then there will be a 10% non refundable deposit.

Question for anyone who has ordered from them in the past:
How is the packing of their items?
Do they ship in the brown shipper, or do they double box like BBTS does.

Thanks

Haven't had any problems. They have very limited stock and sell out quickly. Batman and Robin sold out in an hour. Surprised they still have Wolverine. They remove a product listing once its gone, so unlikely they can't fill an order.

I ordered 3A Ambush from them, it was packed in a separate box wrapped in thick paper. A shame they didn't carry anymore 3A robots. They're very fickle with what they carry. They had HT Snake Eyes but not Storm Shadow, SS Joker but not Harley Quin :dunno

I think product ships around 2 or 3 weeks after Sideshow. I'd just email them if you have questions

I'm going to order this. Can I ask SSC for a shipping price as I'm in Australia and I want to budget for it?

It looks cool and yes it's expensive but people are paying $500 to get sold out figures that they missed out on originally.

Thank you for answering my question completely. I will keep my PO with them and I was lucky to also have a backup PO @ BBTS. So I will at least be able to buy one of him which is all I need, or want :)

Ordering mine this Sunday! Eight easy payments. I'm looking forward to this figure. Price wise who of us has not spent nearly that much on the second market? ^.^

I'm still not decided on Igor, sometimes I look at it and it's a must have, but other times I could easily pass. Price really isn't an issue to me. I'd still be having the same dilemma if this was one $250.00. :dunno

I think I need to see more in hand/real world photos from a toy show to push me either way.

Exactly right--I spent $550 on an exclusive HT Godfather figure. At the time I couldn't believe I spent that much on a "toy" but every time I look at it I think it was definitely worth it. People just need to decide if Igor is worth it to them to spend that amount of money. At least getting it now we have the option to use Flexpay so it's not a brutal hit to the bank account. What I don't understand are the same complaints repeated over and over--like it's going to change the price. It is what it is and *****ing won't make it cheaper.

I would like to have this to complete all the IM armors, but $500 is too much money. If it was $250, I would, and at $350 I might, but this is too much. This is where I gave to draw the line. $500 for any action figure is too much money for me.

I should also say that this isn't a suit, it is a robot. There is no way you could get Tony Stark in there and have him able to bend the knees and arms without being in full fetal position and using remote articulation.

This is a drone. Once you have the ability to make it a drone, why even get in it? Why assume any risk of injury or even have the inconvenience of leaving the control room ie living room? There really is no point.

You can only make a suit be so big before you need to have to make the limbs longer so it can move, and then you can't fit a man in it anymore. At that point, it's a drone

:exactly::goodpost:

Igor was one of, if not my favorite suit from IM3; so god help me I want this. I'm not happy about him being $510. I was hoping he was going to come in lower than that. Right now, I have to decide if I think he is worth the $510 price tag to me.

I like the stark suits: those that had stark in the suits. I will pass on this and get suits that stark occupied, not remote controlled. Kudos to the completionists...IRONMAN will break the bank.

That's so true. I am trying to get Iron Man Mark VI that I missed out. It's like $500 up now on ebay. It's crazy.

i bought 2 of them for that price, the red box version and the normal vip one -_-..... got poor after that

Stane fit into Monger, Stark could get into this. If he could make armour remotely connect to him then I think he could make this suit work for him. Maybe he never intended to fit into it, who knows.

Sure it was used as a drone but most suits were in IM3.

To me Igor has a certain mystery to it, why did Stark build it, did he use it at all previously to IM 3, etc?
