Sandtroopers are a must.... I'm not even sure if I can sell my SS ones.

If I pick up this one I'll at least sell the one that came with the Orange Pauldron... Commander I think? Might sell the "look sir, Droids" one as well as he was the worst of the lot :lol

All of mine, with the exception of a free Ultimate Sandtrooper, are totally re-weathered by me.... Which makes them look 1000% better, but might mean they'll fetch 50% of their value.

I think it might add a bit... those early ones are well known for having weak weathering. Never hurts to pop one up on eBay and see what happens :lecture

I sent them an e-mail about the Sandtrooper. They just gave the standard answer to keep checking their website for "product updates". Realistically though, I guess they need to get back to work from Celebration, and take some professional kick-arse photos of the Sandtrooper they had on show there.

Both the sandtrooper and space trooper looked amazing at the show!!!
Bring on the variant sandies!!
I for one know the more they sell then the more it opens up for new characters to be made!!!
like The Emperor!!!

Will cancel this if SDCC Han and Luke are a reality. $ is a factor.

Based on the behind the on set pics and details of the back pack, I'm still glad I ordered this. It might not be all that accurate, but I still like it (and won't have to pay for it till years end...)

The HT Stormtroopers, and this guy too, look great apart from the legs. Don't get me wrong, the figure looks great....but there is just something about those squat buttery thighs and overly long calf/shin armor pieces that sticks out IMO. Troopers, for the most part, always seemed rather thin. I might have to take a crack at sculpting replacements for those... Like the 1/4 Boba (which I also love) HT has taken the super thigh route and given the imperial offerings a more super hero physique...at least in the legs.

I don't think it's a serious issue but the body swap does serve to make them look a little slimmer. It's got as much to do with the length of the limbs and the way they hang.

The thighs don't meet on the stock body; they do on the S2 and the grafted arms can be held close to the body unlike on the stock.

I might cancel mine since it isn't featured prominently in the film and use the $$ to get a Sandtrooper instead.

I got a response from Sideshow indicating that the backpack/breather on the Spacetrooper is removable. YES !!! So cool ! So I can pose him as a standard Stormtrooper or as a Spacetrooper. Means I have enough funds to also get the Sandtrooper. Wish they would come out with some release details and options for the Sandtrooper. Does anyone think Sandtroopers will be available as a pair ? They seem to be adhering pretty strictly to the movie. So perhaps orange cauldron commander and officer together ? Thoughts ?

There was a post in the sandtrooper thread showing some pictures from a magazine where all the Hot Toys Star Wars Figures were being shown off. From what the pictures show it looks like the sandtrooper may be coming with a small floating droid that mounts through a clear pole into the base of the figure stand. I think they might include the droid as an exclusive offer, but that just my speculation. Its been speculated that they will release a sandtrooper 2 pack since one of the photos shows two sandtroopers, but they both have orange pauldrons and it hasn't been confirmed. I would love a sand trooper two pack with the commander and officer so fingers crossed for that. Awesome that SS got back to you about the backpack and breather being removable, that just makes me even more excited for this figure!
