Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

It's absolutely mind boggling that people want ****** rooted hair, when Hot Toys can sculpt hair that looks that good.:cuckoo:

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

I do have some Deluxe clones. They are great! But the first ones with the colors denoting rank didn't look good at all.
Plus want the commanders and maybe SS will continue with the rest of the ARC ones.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

I agree, rooted hair would've loked terrible.

This is one of the best Star Wars head-sculpts HT have produced and the detail in the hair is amazing.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

And his hair looked exactly like that for pretty much the entire movie. Why would anyone want something they'd have to style themselves which they'd never get to look as good anyway.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

If HT released a Darth Maul and Ep3 Obi-wan I'd break my policy of only OT figures.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

Decided I will 100% get this.
Darth Vader is my favourite SW character so to have him as Vader, Anakin and hopefully in a 1/4 scale will complete the circle.
That means Tarkin goes by the wayside tho.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

YIPPEE!!!!

Would the real life lil' ani from Phantom Menace ever grant his likeness for a 1:6 figure anymore? Or did he sign off all the merchandising rights (in perpetuity) to Lucas?

I thought I read the real life Anakin (child actor) got bullied as a kid and ended up hating Star Wars, not wanting anything to do with the franchise.

He goes to conventions all the time and signs autographs for Star Wars though lol.

Rooted hair on male figures almost always looks like garbage. Plus if the hair gets messed up, who wants to stand there and comb it lol.

Not much of a policy is it if the only reason you weren't collecting PT figures was due to the simple fact that they hadn't been made yet, lol.

"NO prequel figures! Until they make my favorites..."

;)

It looks like garbage on female figures as well. Wonder Woman looks like she's got pubes on her head, not to mention the fact that the rooted hair looks out of scale.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

I hate to be that guy but in my opinion his face needs to be rounder and his nose a bit softer.

I agree, just a tad too gaunt/bony but otherwise nearly perfect. Nut hey, it will soften out when it get's mass produced so that's a win.

Wow, I hadn't seen that. It does look awful. I've seen it look decent on some female figures but I rather have sculpted hair.

Here is a good Anakin custom but the hair ruins it.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

Yeah, I would actually agree sculpted hair is the way to go on this. Good points about having to futz it, which it would ultimately likely end up not looking right.

I think that would look good if the sculpt/paint actually looked like Anakin. But to me it doesn't.
