I did wonder though... has anyone else had issues with the hand repulsor lights? I pulled out the tabs but they still won't light up.

Hey JonWes, I had the same problem with my original MARK III figure. I had to remove the plastic battery cover with a small screwdriver and found that there are 3 little watch batteries inside. What had happened is that they had 'buckled' forming an arc, so I had to carefully push them back in so that they aligned nice and straight. I actually had to take them all out and then put them back in with tweezers...it was a complete pain because as I was almost finished, they would keep springing out sending batteries all over the place, so make sure you do it in a room where you won't lose the batteries. Needless to say, it worked after that!

Good luck, hope that helps...

Thanks! That did it. I think they just popped out of place a bit. I actually just pushed in a bit on the outer batter cover on one and it started working. The other I actually opened and pressed them into place.

It's such a beautiful figure. I'm convinced some of the weirdness in photos was due to people not pushing stuff in all the way. The shoulder plates and front chest plate have no gap in them. The front plate tucks neatly under them when pressed all the way in, although it seems impossible to open the shoulder missiles then. You have to have the chest plate off from what I can tell.

The coloring is just amazing. Really, really phenomenal! I just think it looks so much more metallic than the pictures I've seen of the previous Mark III.

I did have one snafu. one of the metal plates from the mask fell off. I found it attached to the magnet of the figure and it'll be a simple glue-on.

The one thing I'm slight concerned about when posing is the fact that one side of the rubbery pelvic are looks a bit dented in. I tried using the tool to push it out a bit, but when I pose the leg it tends to push it back in.

All in all I'm incredibly happy. The new paint on the face sculpt really makes it sing when you compare it to the Mark II.

After months of waiting it's finally arrived. And it's already pissing me off. :lol

Has anyone been able to achieve a good landing post yet?

This is about as good as I can get it. Tell me where I'm going wrong.

not really.

the original mark 3 looks like these:

while the BD although nice and glossy, looks a bit toyish, in proportions IMO.

I had the v1 in the display right now, and the BD stored inside the box.

I agree, the original Mark III is more screen accurate than the BD.

Wasn't talking screen accuracy. I'm talking about all the deatils, such as the scrapes and dings in the paint. As well as the overall gloss and appearance. More attractive looking figure on the shelf.

Totally agree with you there, i 2 would have the better looking figure on display over the inferior one even if that one is the more movie accurate of the 2. + the brighter red of the bdm3 is more the classic ironman color ..so its only inaccurate to the film and not 2 overall character in appearance in comics and cartoons .

I agree the BD looks kickass, and the stylized nature serves his comic side well. I'm just a sucker for screen accuracy since I limit my collectibles to cinema and television.

Last time I check this was still the iron man thread for the MOVIE Masterpiece Series by Hot Toys, no?

I agree that the BD is an awesome looking figure, but to say that the v1 is inferior is ridiculous.
