Thats why I displayed it for the smashing ground pose. Takes the skinny waist look away. The original looks more buff. Shoulders neck and waist.

Has anyone ever attempted to fix the fading rubber parts? I hope some customizer sheds light on what paint to use to restore the parts. It sucks having this figure displayed with this fading problem.

I'm thinking of selling my one..with all the new hot toys on the way and the custom projects, i need to get some sales cash.

Is the fading only in certain batches? I don't see it in the above pictures.

Every Mark 3 (from Original to BD) is affected. :(

The fading is evident in this photo. Notice the torso has a different shade of red compared to the chest.

I feel so sorry for those with the fading pieces. And looking at some of the various pics, I find myself angry that Hot Toys even released such a figure. The length of the neck is terrible!

Considering that so very many of these have the paint problem, is there any way that Hot Toys would/can address this?

If I had bought one of these, I would be beating down HT's door for a solution!

Mine (knocks on wood) Thank God hasn't faded. I don't have the BD (although I may have to pick it up since people are selling and some are using the word cheap) but my Mark III, both of them look the same as they did right out of the box. It might help that I took them right out of the box, posed them and they've never been touched since, up on display in a room with no natural light in but either way I don't have the discoloration that I'm seeing on the photos here.

even kept in the box since early 2010 does not prevent it from fading... check it out.... i finally decide to take it out to fresh air...

I heard that keeping the figure in the box accelerates the fading process and ends up much worst than those who took the figure out. Good luck to mint collectors who keeps figures boxed up I guess.

I'm surprised no one dared to (except one but forgot who) custom paint the fading parts. Would be a great help if someone posted what kind of paint to use to repair those.

Anyone know what a mint version of this figure without the box would go for? I accidentally stepped on the box when I had the figure out to inspect it. I never displayed him (my "display area" is in a perpetual state of "I'll get to it later"). He's still int he plastic trays, just no box.

Unlike the many people who are dumping this guy for other Marks, I never got any other IMs, and am not sure if I'm really going to pursue / display this line.

I'm just trying to figure out if he'd be worth holding onto versus what I could get for him (since I overpaid on eBay in the first place).

Just looked at mine today and I am getting heavy fading in the mid section too. Please someone help up on how to get a quick fix done on this issue. Obviously HT won't bother with it.

Still my question goes unanswered. I too am looking for a way to fix the fading parts. :(

I too have now noticed the same problem with mine. I just received the MK IV yesterday and it is beautiful. It also looks a lot nicer than my MK III BD. So I think I am just going to try and sell it and not deal with the rubber fade issue. Also on the newer one, there are no rubber parts so I will not have to worry about that again. It seems that HT did learn from their mistakes but unfortunately that doesn't help us now who have the older ones.

I thought the "briefs" on the Mark 4 are the rubber material. Haven't opened mine up yet.
