Could possibly, I wouldn't do two things.

1) keep the shelf up that high or close to the source.

2) keep lights on for a long number of hours or period.

Is having a detolf important or can I just use the wooden shelf Im using now?

its really up to you, i bout myself a detolf on friday & i have to say its f'n awesome with my HT 1/6 figures displayed in it!!!
but i wouldn't let that stop me from displaying some of my figs on my shelves..if i had any lol

I said it's an awesome character, I hate the fact that it is Adrian Brody. I have no issue with the quality of the HT product only that they use Adrian for the acting.
