I think I prefer the Tanktrooper to the Shoretrooper...

Although similar designs from the same 'family', the Tanktrooper feels way more Star Wars-y.

This looks great from the side, but have you seen this from the front? It looks a little wide to me, but some of these designs are beginning to grow on me a bit more.

The Bandai version of this looks even weirder. I hope Hot Toys can make a decent version of it.

You're right. Looks like they bridge the gap between the Kashyyk troopers and Scout troopers. I like it alot. But those shoes are definitely strange. Like Dockers or something. I laughed that you said wtf about it hahaha
They're virtually the same as stormtrooper boots but brown so no big change.
This my favourite design since the OT I think ..just love it!!
Happily buy all three ..bring them on!!

Thanks for posting this!
I love all these versions of the Shoretooper. I'm going to order the Captain eventually, and knowing HT, the other two will definitely be released, hopefully as a two pack.

I suspect the remaining two will be released in a 2-Pack. They've already made a "Trooper," he's in all the promo photos for the "Captain."

They all are distinct, I'll probably end up getting all three.

Re the used universe...that's the single most revolutionary element Star Wars brought to the table in terms of suspending disbelief...
It has brought science fiction to such a realistic level, it was easy to accept that the story, the characters, the locations really existed. It was one of the things that Ridley Scott latched onto and again helped to bridge the gap between the real and the surreal. Even the weathering on the alien designs and landscapes by Giger in Alien added to that used universe established by Star Wars.

Go Tank Troopers!!! Can't wait for that Jakks and hot toys figure!

I didn't even know they were making 3. It makes sense because they'll juice this film for everything they can. Are there photos of the others?

In this photo you can see the other two. The Captain in the front, and the regular and Squad Leader behind. I can tell it's the Squad Leader because of the blue stripe on the right shoulder and missing armor on the hips. All looking good!

I like this figure, it's something different. I'll order the one with blue highlights. Can't wait for the film.
Yeah the blue does add some extra variety and flavors. I like all the variations but I went with this first Captain version. If I could afford it I'd like to get the others as well.

Yep. I'm waiting for the Squad leader. Yep blue and red on the right arm. Matches all three pics.

Wow, no love for these guys? :lol

Does anyone have any news on how many grunts per squad? Would like to get an equal amount to form one!

These do look pretty cool. I kind of want to see what their role in the film is though. I like that they're a bit different looking from standard Troopers.

They have a huge role on Scarif.

Shoretroopers

Also referred to as “Shoretroopers” these specialist Stormtroopers are stationed at the top-secret Imperial military headquarters on Scarif. They patrol the beaches and bunkers of the planetary facility. There are three ranks of Shoretroopers, starting with the standard Stormtrooper, then the Squad Leaders, and finally the Captains. These military designations are recognizable by the visual differences in their armor.

Huh?

Anyways, here's a compiled picture from Hasbro's Shoretrooper page. I don't know but I'm pretty sure all will flock into this page after the premier :lol

I actually like the look of these guys. Wasn't sure about them at first, but they've grown on me somewhat now.

I love the look of this design and the designation of rank by colors. Its a nice mix of OT and clone trooper design. And as an OT fanboy and clone addict this pleases me. Definitely going to have a squad of these guys with at least two grunts.

I just can't get past the pants :ohbfrank: They look like cos-players who just didn't finish. "Oh crap, we gotta get in line for Hall H! Screw it, we don't need the leg armor!" "wait these are the wrong boots." "Forget the boots, lets go!" " okay if we act casual, everyone will think we dressed like this on purpose." ....

Your argument makes no sense at all.
