Cool, thanks. The RO body/suit is better than the ANH? I might do the same switch-outs as you. Still debating whether to get the entire figure or just parted-out gloved hands, only downside being that only the ANH arm has the light-up. Is the RO height more accurate than the ANH one, my ANH seems pretty tall but I don't know how it is compared to everything else.

The RO belt is removable actually... Unless mine is broken and the male/female ends of the snap have just enough friction to hold. I've taken if off twice though and it seems to work for me.

That's a relief if it's removable! Where do you remove it from?

I didn't do any switch outs on my HT ANH Vader, mine is stock (those pictures aren't of my Vader btw). I actually prefer the somewhat unsightly yet more poseable ANH gloves. I own the Sideshow ANH Vader too so If I really hated the gloves I'll just grab them from there.

The height is mostly accurate to the main actors of the different versions of Vader in either R1 or ANH. The ANH version is slightly taller by a very small amount to David Prowse, and the R1 version is accurate to Spencer Wilding who mainly portrayed Vader in R1 (Daniel Naprous was the stuntman Vader in R1).

So, since Prowse portrayed Vader in most appearances, that makes the ANH version a little more height accurate to the character.

Wish I can pull up the footage of Vader watching the Blockade runner fleeing again . No offense to Prowse, but that shot of Vader in RO whether it was the double or Wilding, made him look like a jugganaunt

It's all camera angles, if you look at pictures of the two actors they actually have very similar builds. That said, Wilding looks like one mean bloke!

Any issues attaching the RO head to the SS Deluxe body?

I was thinking of doing the same but I'm not sure if it the head scales well enough to the oversized SS body. Any additional pics here or in the Vader mod thread would be appreciated.

Ahoy!

For those curious...

I've attached the RO Vader sporting ANH head sculpt, codpiece and chest/shoulder armor. Also attached is a SS Deluxe (modified) with RO head sculpt.

Cheers,
Ahab

Definitely some difference in sizing here. Head is bigger, and the side curve on the helmet seems a little sharper than the ANH helmet?

I've been waiting for someone to cancel their BBTS preorder for so long.

I don't really like ordering from Sideshow

That brings up the question again that I can't seem to figure out, because I've heard both: Are figure heights when considered to be "in scale", intended to be based on the actual heights of the actors and actresses, or the heights of the intended characters in canon?

If the latter, then R1 and ANH Vader figures should be the same height, because it's the same Vader.

For me personally, if the heights look roughly about right when just eyeballing it, then I'm good. :lol

Is there anything behind the lenses on this one to make them show more red/amber? Because the ANH Vader doesn't have anything behind them and it just looked black.

Dome? It says 'RO Head Sculpt on SS Deluxe (modified) Vader' for the figure on the right in the pic I quoted. As such, it's HT ANH Vader head on left, and HT RO head on right...

You're right. That was a recent custom Ahab did and thought that's what he was posting there. It does appear bigger there but most side by sides they look the same aside from the high gloss.

Hey Guys,
The Vader on the left is wearing a stock HT ANH headsculpt (dome/mask). The Vader on the right is has a stock HT Rogue One headsculpt (dome/mask). They are identical sculpts. The only difference is the finish.

Cheers.
edit: The ANH mask is from the first wave of releases. I was watching one of the Jazz videos and it seams like there are variations in finishes between the releases for the ANH Vader. This doesn't seem to have any impact on the sculpt itself though...

Ahoy!
I've had this figure for a few days now, and though I think its a fantastic representation of an ANH/RO Vader, I'm having a little trouble with the cut of the cape...
I thought I'd be more picky about the tunic, but the high in the back /low in the front drape is a bit off putting. When its on the stand is not really an issue, but I display my figures w/o and the sense of scale gets thrown due to the long dragging front of the cape. The caped Vader silhouette is so iconic and ingrained, it's hard to look past those little nitpicks (for a lot of us anyway!). Hope that makes sense. Now, I haven't seen RO yet, and maybe that detail is on point... Otherwise, a great piece that will fill the ANH (era) slot nicely in my collection.
Cheers
