Ahoy!

I know its putting the cart before the horse since this figure is just now getting to us, but I thought it would be fun to see what we might expect from HT for their ESB Vader...

I'm using the SS Deluxe inner robes since they have an access opening for the chest box wires, otherwise all parts are stock RO except for the hands and chest/belt boxes.

Cheers,

Wow! Thanks for this! I have the SS DX figure so this will work for me. 2 birds with 1 stone. :lol

Hey everyone, thought I'd ask someone on here before I try it myself... Just got RO Vader, can one switch the codpiece with the ANH Vader?

Thanks

I switched my RO cod piece with my spare SS Vader first edition, so I'm sure it should be even easier to swap the ANH HT cod piece

This is my one and only Vader and it is indeed most impressive. I love how they did the cape and gave it a little extra weight. I was a little disappointed that the double-sided background does not fit in my Detolf. That being said, Vader on the base fits perfectly with like less than an inch to spare.
Amazing figure! If you don't have a Vader yet and are on the fence, he's worth it!
I'd like to give a shout out to fellow Sideshow Freak Triton for hooking me up with an amazing light up lightsaber.

For those with both ANH and R1 Vaders. Is there any differences in the capes? From pics to me it seems the ANH hangs better or can that be from just the pics I saw. Are they the same or different? Thanks.
I only have R1, but from pics it looks like both capes are the same length, but R1 is taller so it sits higher off the ground. The R1 cape also has pleats while the ANH is flat.

Yeah that seems to work really well. Although I think it definitely needs to have the SS codpiece too, as the RO version just looks distractingly off.

I didn't know this figure is that tall. All these pics making me getting a little impatience. Come on BBTS, ship it soon please!

Boy you aren't kidding, when I did the robe mod, right off the bat, I noticed the cape definitely had a weight to it. Took a few pounds off the feel of the figure, which is odd because with the cape on still the overall figure seemed mid weight..is that the same with the ANH version as well. Past on the ANH version because the mods everyone were doing on it were overkill and I didn't want to go through that.

How much is that light up saber?

Infinitely better than the A New Hope Version. Suit is less baggy, a more intimidating build and the belt isn't that scary to take apart. the bad thing though is that the pegs are a ***** to put on the hands, so I took the liberty of ordering extra pegs from Toy Anxiety.

Great pics! Although right now I think my problem with the tunic is less with the pleats than with how stiff and thick it appears over the armor. I'm assuming it's two layers of material, so I wonder if removing the inner layer might make it appear a bit thinner like it does in the movie...

He's a beast pal in a good way..makes Kylo look like a twig in height

Only SS towers over this guy

In person ( I know it's a cliche ) but looks more natural and thinner adhering to the armor and fits better when you do the mod. You can try it..but I don't think it is necessary to touch the pleats. I think the thickness is more due to how the lighting reflects off the material. Don't get me wrong , the pleats aren't Batfleck cape thin but they are thinner and well better proportioned to the armor.

Like someone mentioned, when you look at this figure in your hands you barely even recognize the pleats as a distraction..beautifully tailored :lecture

Same goes for the large cod piece

^Alright cool, glad to hear it. I know pics online often tend to magnify things and make issues seem a lot bigger than they really are (like the teeth on Rey), so this is probably just one more of those.

Yeah I would put the lights on my boxes more but I think one set of batteries came half depleated so there isn't enough juice going on one box..kind of faint

Otherwise I like the gimmick on the figure ( remember this is my first HT Vader) so I'm sure it takes getting used to the light up functions

Haha! Yeah, that's kinda my plan too...a Vader for all seasons! The gloves are just stuck on with friction for now. I guess I'll need to modify the pegs to work with the HT body at some point.
Cheers

It's shocking how off that SSC one looks now.........

It's true, but I've to say that if you are looking for something of screen accurate even both ht vader are way off. They need a lot of mods, and I remember some great modded sideshow anh vaders. Considering the time lapse and the price ht haven't done nothing more than sideshow.
