It's true, but I've to say that if you are looking for something of screen accurate even both ht vader are way off. They need a lot of mods, and I remember some great modded sideshow anh vaders. Considering the time lapse and the price ht haven't done nothing more than sideshow.

That's very unfair. The only thing that's barely worth something of the Original SSC Vader is the suit. Everything else is off in every possible way. At this scale, the only thing of HT ANH Vader I find blatantly wrong is the shoulder armor (well...and the gloves). Out of the box is still decent, modded can be perfect.

Far be it from me to be unfair regarding HT. And, indeed, who am I to speek about Darth Vader? :wink1:

Someone mentioned a while back you don't necessarily need pegs for the gloves. They stay on pretty well even without. Makes it easier to change out the hands.

Infinitely better than the A New Hope Version. Suit is less baggy, a more intimidating build and the belt isn't that scary to take apart. the bad thing though is that the pegs are a ***** to put on the hands, so I took the liberty of ordering extra pegs from Toy Anxiety.

Agree wth this.

Out of the box, I think he can look pretty good with just some futzing. Extreme mods (little more weathering on the helmet, weathering the shoulder armor, lowering the dome, etc.) of course can make him look utterly perfect, but I think you can get him looking pretty good without it.

Like you said, I think the only thing blatantly inaccurate is the shiny shoulder armor.

Are you guys referring to the RO or ANH version because IMO in hand, this RO version is pretty accurate :dunno

im on the wait list but doubtful about it. bbts has ANH vader up for 300 and RO vader going for about the same price on ebay. would you say this vader is worth it? considering ANH vader comes with a lot more

We're referring to the ANH version in this case. What prompted that though is the poster who I quoted was referring to a post made that stated both the ANH and R1 Vaders didn't really offer anything more than the SSC Vaders in terms of accuracy:

It's all preference and your opinion. For me I'm cool with this being my go to Vader for now. When I see all the heavy modding that people have been doing to the ANH Vader blows my man. Seems a lot of work to get it just right. And even after people still need to mod it. It gets so convoluted makes my head spin.

This RO just seems to be more futzing then modding, but I guess that's just my opinion.

I figured, unless that guy has the RO version in their hands, I don't see how they can think that it isn't accurate. I beg to differ :dunno

Don't feel good about my WL chances so I ended up buying him for $290 shipped from Pop Culture Zone. Not sure what they have left in stock but if you're looking for one under $300 that's probably the only option right now.

I think I got on around 9-10 days ago. I just figured if I could get one under $300 I'd go for it now in case it doesn't convert.

thanks for the info... i jumped on the WL the day it did goto WL,,,,, might just keep with it,,, it if doesnt convert ill wait it out for the ESB . .
Saying that,, picking it up now seems quite tempting,,

Heres a couple quick shots and a ANH/RO comparison respectively. Really digging RO Vader. :clap After this Vader, you know it'll just get better and better with each iteration they make.

Great comparison pics!

That first one reminds me why I passed on the ANH. Unless you futz him just right, it looks like a fat cosplayer lol. And the helmet looks a little small. Looks like HT took the criticisms and improved on everything. I'm getting this one, but I'm really looking forward to see what they come up with for ESB and ROTJ. I want to see that Anakin sculpt! My SS one looks like a moldy toe..

^Haha! Moldy toe...:)

One mod I'd like to do to the RO is to illuminate the red lights on the belt boxes. On the ANH version those light up, correct?
Really happy with this guy.
Cheers
