Pretty sure the gunmetal on the chest armor is supposed to be brighter than on the helmet, although the gunmetal on the helmet does still seem a bit darker than it should be. From a distance it pretty much looks solid black.
Shoulder armor comparison between R1 (on the left) and ANH version...both gunmetal colors are pretty similar with the ANH version having a subtle 'brushed on' effect. Sculpt wise the R1 version is much more accurate while ANH version is all kinds of wrong. As for the face masks the R1 version has a darker gunmetal color. Personally i'd go with either face mask along with R1 shoulder armor.. View attachment 316138For those who have both RO and ANH, what is the difference in the gunmetal paint colors used for the neck/face vs the shoulder armors, and how do they match or contrast? It's hard to tell from pics especially for RO since the paint is so reflective under lights, but it looks like the color on the shoulder armor is way more shiny than the face/neck. I'm looking to procure parts, and would prefer the colors to match.
Speaking of the chest armor, did anybody else's armor come looking a bit... warped? Not sure if it's supposed to be that way (like the asymmetrical dome), but I was wondering why I had a hard time centering mine correctly on the body, and then I removed it and found it was not symmetrical either.
That's what I tell my wife.Tug on it.
Did you put R1 parts on the ANH figure or ANH parts on the R1 figure?
I have both and my rogue one vader puts it to shame. But I can't completely relate because I'm keeping my deluxe for the unmasked and standHi guys,
I’ve read every single post of this thread so far and I’m really thankful for all the information provided.
However, I have a dilemma and I need your guidance.
I already own the Deluxe Vader Sideshow, which I am not 100% happy with due to the helmet, inner suit material and Sideshow body.
I passed on the ANH Vader from Hot Toys since it didn’t convince me at the time(gloves, body and cape draping) however this RO Vader looks (most) impressive.
Here is my question, for both Deluxe and RO versions owners, is it worth selling my Deluxe and buying this RO Vader instead? I’d like to have “in-hand” opinions since I already took a look at some comparison pictures previously.
Since the Yoda and Snowtrooper are already on pre-order, I'm also wondering if there is a chance that an ESB line will soon be released or not. In such case, waiting for an ESB Vader might also be an option...
But if you had to chose rogue one out the box is amazing. The mask and some look perfect and coming from a figure that everyone has a hard time making right I'd say get ro sell deluxe before mms388 goes up even more.Hi guys,

Thanks to all of you for your answers and advices.
I think I'll sell my Sideshow Deluxe for the RO, despite the fact I'd like to keep the unmasked facesculpt and the lighted base.
Since the pre-orders are already closed at Toy Sapiens (official retailers here in Japan), I'll have to look elsewhere and hopefully find a RO Vader for a reasonable price.
Thanks again!
