WT HT got it wrong paint wise on both versions

I happen to agree with you on most. I'm pretty sure the mask is the same sculpt again so you mean the eyes are as wrong as the ANH version?

Anyway, I wonder how this figure actually measures up with R1 Vader. We're all so busy comparing it to ANH.

I'd say it actually looks better than the Vader in the movie, at least from the few still shots we've seen in him (although he does seem to look a lot better in motion).

So many things are off just like the ANH version..eyes too big,horrible nose plug again!,neck too long,chest box and belt/buckle all kinds of wrong. The gloves and better fitting suit are it's saving grace and oddly enough the cod piece is actually accurate

Funny I think the nose plug looks better on RO darker, shaped more subtle

To small to what? ive seen so many comparing this figure to the ANH its not the same its not supposed to be the same the only thing anyone should be comparing it to is the on screen suit

The screen suit is what i'm comparing it to and there's a lot that's off and not correct..

The bells aren't black on ANH? My bad.

I do believe the RO chest box is larger but the slots and badges are the same size as the original box (ANH) so are spread further apart. Aren't we saying the same thing?

No for me the button/slots look smaller on the R1 version..

Looks better than the movie. Well that's an improvement.

I was hoping for more upgrade parts from this RO Vader but it looks like the plan for me remains the same: upgrade the gloves only.

Now finding this gloves will be the trick. I have a feeling I will have to take matrix's lead and make my own set of 'real'-leather gloves.

Yeah it looks to be a rehash of the same mask with the same failings..they even forgot to add the wee cheek scar that he has in R1. Here's hoping they sculpt a more accurate mask for the ESB version...or maybe we'll get a battle damaged R1 version first..

I'm just saying the proportions on the R1 figure seem a bit more consistent with the OT Vader, and don't have shoulders that look a bit too padded up or a neck that seems just a bit too short.

So we agree that RO is a better representation of Prowse's Vader than the HT ANH version

He must've have gotten the suit damaged in this film.. we don't know yet when that scene with the Bantha tank takes place..beginning, middle or end. Vader could be wearing the hood because his mask is damaged

Good point, didn't think about actor height. This also give me more reason to keep my custom Sideshow ANH vader, whose body has already been chopped down to the proper Prowse size.
